the cards aren't even out for half a year and their 8GB RAM are already insufficient at the high end.

Is that FPS or some other number? I played Control a couple weeks ago on my 8gb 3070 at 4K with Raytracing on and had like 50-60 FPS I think. I imagine it’s more graphically intense than Minecraft but maybe not.

Hmm I can’t remember if I had DLSS on, I’ll have to check when I get time.

That's FPS. Minecraft may be terribly optimized, I heard good things about control.

Hell I was the one doing the “hmm should I” due to card shortage and she said “stfu and get it before price goes up!” like it was AMC stock or something.

She just wants to play POE and Diablo next to me on the older box.

For a non joking reply though, I always get anxiety and remorse after spending big money on stuff like that. I never do it unless I know I could, and it's something I legitimately want, but I always feel guilty about spending the money.

It is fucked. I ended up selling my GTX 1080 on there for almost $600 last week. That's more than I paid for my damn 3070 haha. Gotta love free upgrades.

It would be interesting to see these same benchmarks at 1440p and 1080p. Vram is a lot more important at 4k than lower resolutions.

I like my small cases but holy fucking shit was it a project fitting the 3070 in my NR200. Cable management is a myth. It's runnin' tho. Something is kissing one of my fan blades and I'm debating if I wanna bother opening the thing up again lol.
