Means they give them far more money to nvidia then they should and figured this was an easy sale. Why care about prices if people still gobble them up. Just make sure to keep using the words "limited" and "one time opportunity" and consumers think they have to buy it or never have a chance again.
Okay, my logic is that I can still sell my 3080 FE for a good price, and I was getting 10% back due to a 5% PayPal * doubled offer through my credit card, so this is basically free, right?

It IS excellent performance per watt, it's just $300 too much. Still, the performance is great. Super interested in the 7900XTX and it's raster performance next month as well.

Yeah I think buying at this point with the AMD cards coming out is a bit of a waste. Also Nvidia sending mails to people they have cards to sell means they might not be selling so well to begin with, usually they'd have shit to sell, priority verified VIP gold member big dick system aside.

Got a hardware G-sync monitor or I would have waited.

GN deduced that ~125,000 4090's have been sold. I have no idea why that impresses me, or why I thought it was lower. But ya.

It does seem like a lot. But not that unexpected. The only current generation card out and all the "must have newest" will buy it and that's globally iirc. Will see how it goes month to month. Will people actually buy a $1600 gpu as a christmas present, especially for their kids? Or even a $1200 4080 or a $1000 7900? No real low range or mid range option for christmas season, besides earlier generations.

Be interesting to compare it to all the other cards in their first month.

I thought in their earings report Nvidia had a lot of unsold inventory on hand. Of course lot to it other than 4090s

Know two people IRL that have 4090's and they regret buying them. They arent having any technical issues, just think they overpaid. Which is a very fucking "duhhhh" moment.

Paying just south of $2K for a video card is fucking insane. I would consider anything above like $800 for a video card is crazy as fuck.

I felt like I paid too much for my 2080 ($800 when they came out), but it looks great now!

What's going to be weird is for the longest time I effectively had two PCs with only one video card, and when the new AMD card comes out and if I am able to buy one, I will have two video cards now with only one PC to put it in. Now I need to look at if I can build a small quiet Mini ITX machine for this 3080.

The two Great Video Card Droughts made that price look good and your buy smart. That's the overhang that Nvidia is trying to come to grips with now.

I still really hate buying during my mid life crisis at height of the retard market before things suddenly shifted my 3080. think I was just triggered at being on a 1080ti after my card burned up.

Now tempted to throw good money after bad, but bet I'd get maybe half of I'm lucky for my 3080, so would be quite a lot of money for that bump.

Blah, hate market volatility in almost everything I'm into. car prices and availability been fucked. At least ammo is actually slowly working down but still pricy and things like optics are floating up.

I upgraded in 2020, so I'm due in the next year or so. So hopefully all this will have worked itself out by then and we'll have reasonable prices again.

I'm sticking with my 1080 for now but upgraded my brother to a 6900 XT for $670. Even that felt expensive i'd want to upgrade TVs and monitors for the family long before considering cards that absurd.
