I think I'm the only person who doesn't think DLSS5 looks bad? I think it looks rather good and am excited for it. I just don't want developers to not put in effort, but I generally stay away from AAA games for this reason anyway.

It looks like real time generative AI that is constantly fed the prompt image from the rendered game engine image . Which is probably exactly what it is.
Here's a very ELI5 version of how AI generation works: It takes a lot of images/videos, and then creates averages from all of it, and then produces images/videos from a seeding prompt and those averages. So in the end, all you will ever get out of an AI model trained that way is ... average. I don't know about you, about that doesn't sound exactly exciting.
Sure, if you could put in your own model, for example one that has been trained extensively on porn, and suddenly all your female characters run around naked and have big tits ... suddenly, somehow that sounds very exciting.

Agreed. Basically the same people who cannot do their job, are talentless hacks, and can be replaceable because they quite honestly don't bring any value.
Instead of making sure they do their job better than AI, they cry about it like they always have to remain mediocre at best developers.
Basically any DEI shitbag in the industry. Same goes for Hollywood and story writing.

I'd like to point out that this will make games suck even more, because not only did Nvidia sponsor game development (by sending their engineers to optimize the game engines to their specific hardware), now they will just incentivize developers to just fuck off and don't optimize their games at all, because obviously DLSS solves any and all issues. Also, everyone is using Unity or Unreal, so the games look all the same anyways, so why bother when AI makes all of them look the same anyway?
And you will pay for that by buying expensive Nvidia hardware, so Jensen Huang in turn can buy more leather jackets and spatulas. The consoles won't save you this time, because both PS and XBox are currently crashing and burning, and AMD may just quit and do data center and AI shit exclusively, because this is making them more money and all you just bought Nvidia anyway. Which is why this is a golden opportunity for Nvidia to vendor lock-in all of you with their AI tech.
Here's an idea: Just buy shit games. Worked for Concord, worked for Marathon, and worked for 1348 Ex Scrotum.

I think its kinda funny how NVIDIA showcased these shitty AI demos using hardware that most sane and normal people can't buy anymore; all because this hardware is being burned up in hyperscaler warehouses to create the AI that pumps out these shitty demos. It is so out of touch it makes me smile.
