Looks like Obsession is arriving on Peacock earlier than expected. Peacock has announced that it will begin streaming on Friday, July 17, instead of the previously expected August window.

The Blair Witch marketing was genius - like Juvarisx mentions, it was so good that people legitimately thought it was real found footage and they were going to watch a movie about people getting ganked in the woods. Pretty much a right time, right place sort of movie that would be hard to replicate today.
I took a girl to see it that didn't know it was a hoax. After credits started, she started crying and asking why we went sending in fbi or something lol

Watched this on Peacock yesterday. Inde Navarrette's facial expressions made this movie. I'd only ever seen her in that Superman and Louis CW show where the writing for her character was awful...this role made me a fan, though. The script/story was good enough, but it wouldn't have worked without her acting talent.

I came to post basically this. It would have been a 7/10 movie with a different actress, but it is a 9/10 with her. Might be my favorite movie of the year, but I'm also terrible at remembering what I've watched.

I have to imagine she's going to get a lot more roles now. I watched a few random interviews with her and she's just fucking adorable in "real life." Yes, even those interviews aren't real, but you get my point. She seems cool, and as long as she keeps her mouth shut about politics I'll keep that illusion going.

I rarely pay close attention to acting or cinematography because if it is good enough I shouldn't even notice it, but her acting was phenomenal, and even in the scenes where she's almost completely in shadow and you just see the reflection in her eyes, she was creepy as fuck. Just blown away by her performance here.

I haven't watched it yet, and it's on my list, but I might have to figure out how to see it sooner rather than later.

For some reason I was kind of put off that the director clarified that Nikki wasn't possessed, but rather her behavior was brought on by the magic of the wishing willow adhering to what Bear wished for and the "real" Nikki periodically breaking the spell.

I liked the idea of it being some sort of demonic possession and the guy in the store being the "devil" or some shit just based on the way the actress played it. Also when Bear called the number for the wishing willow that was sinister as shit.

Either way this was a good watch. Her facial expressions creeped me the fuck out. No way I would stick my dick in that.

I thought I had guessed what was going to happen, but I was way wrong.

At the beginning she tells him that if she has a crush on someone, no one would know, and then later she asks him if he likes her, now is the time to tell her. He pussies out and then makes the wish. I thought the end was going to reveal that she liked him all along, and if he'd just told her they could have avoided all of this.

I just got done watching it, and you are correct. She specifically states I won't let somebody I know if I like them which is kind of a cock tease type of thing, but it's pretty obvious that she does like him.

That's not a bad movie and it was pretty interesting and getting crazy towards the end, but I don't think it's Hereditary levels of amazing.
I will admit that I was shocked at how things sort of progressed in various scenes, but I guess I felt it could have been pushed a little bit further.

I guess the other thing is I didn't necessarily care for any of the characters whatsoever. I guess I'm supposed to be sympathetic towards the main dude but he's a complete and utter fucking Weiner, and she's the obvious evil entity, so who are you supposed to root for?

I'll give it some props for the fact that it was at least trying to do something different and if I had to compare it to another movie it's probably like that It Follows. It's a gimmick and it's shot in a very similar manner, which isn't necessarily bad, but I don't think it stuck The landing overall.

I don't think it was a waste of time, but it's not the greatest horror movie in recent memory.
