Ocean's Eight (2018)

I thought reboots only happen decades after the original. tbh oceans eleven 12 13 i enjoyed the hell out of them. why reboot? no work ?

I miss the endless adventure that was DVDASA podcast with Asa & David Choe. "Oh Choe-ie!"

Oh, I see. They're Ocean's 8, so if it's a hit and they pull a trilogy, it'll lead into Ocean's 11. So these women originated Casino heists that the men had to copy.

I'm just being anti woman for that part of the post. I'll watch it because I enjoy this type of movie.

I'd enjoy a "Powder" remake that focuses on an albino hairless woman that explodes rainbows.

You hate to come off being "anti-women" but these changes for the sake of change is really annoying. Not talking about this movie specifically but i'm jaded after Ghostbusters. It's pushed and why not just let these things happen on their own with their own unique movies/stories? So many of these actresses are plenty talented and successful enough that they don't need to take on these mediocre remakes.

Well the trailer shows Sandra Bullock drinking a martini by Danny Ocean's gravestone. I dunno if it's set before the earlier movies and he's faked his death back in the past or something but it does seem to suggest this one is set after those. Not to mention Taylor Swift. That pretty much rules out it being a prequel to the earlier ones. She was 12 years old when the first Clooney/Pitt one came out.

it's def not a prequel, james cordon asks sandra bullock if these heists just run in the family, to which she replies yes.

Doesn't actually look half bad, but I'm dubious. I really enjoyed the first and 3rd movie, and this could be a good sequel of sorts, but do I want to support Hollywood remaking every damn movie with a female cast?

I'll watch because I enjoy this Sandra Bullock. Equally so if we can get Cate Blanchett in gothic makeup.

Even though I hated her in The Office, I really have grown to like Mindy's humor. She has pretty fantastic comedic timing and I look forward to seeing her in this.

Agreed that this cast actually fits the movie, unlike Fembusters. Cate Blanchett seems pretty out of place, though, so I'm interested to see how she's used.
