huh that is not at all what i expect from a PTA movie, looks like an updated Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid. not a lot of big names in the cast either, usually PTA has a few more big stars

Does he though? Here we have DiCaprio, Penn and Del Toro. That's more big stars than in most of his movies. There really are only 3 out of 9 that have these big ensemble cast full of big names : Boogie Night, Magnolia and Inherent Vice.

PTA recommended 5 movies to see before his One Battle After Another debuts this month, a few friends and I are going to watch them this week:
  • Running on Empty (1988) - PVOD (Kanopy),
  • The Battle of Algiers (1966) - HBO Max,
  • Midnight Run (1988) - Netflix,
  • The French Connection (1971) - PVOD (History Vault),
  • The Searchers (1956) - YTTV

The Searchers is one of my favorite movies. It's absolutely beautiful. Maybe my favorite John Wayne film too.
