huh that is not at all what i expect from a PTA movie, looks like an updated Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid. not a lot of big names in the cast either, usually PTA has a few more big stars

Does he though? Here we have DiCaprio, Penn and Del Toro. That's more big stars than in most of his movies. There really are only 3 out of 9 that have these big ensemble cast full of big names : Boogie Night, Magnolia and Inherent Vice.

PTA recommended 5 movies to see before his One Battle After Another debuts this month, a few friends and I are going to watch them this week:
  • Running on Empty (1988) - PVOD (Kanopy),
  • The Battle of Algiers (1966) - HBO Max,
  • Midnight Run (1988) - Netflix,
  • The French Connection (1971) - PVOD (History Vault),
  • The Searchers (1956) - YTTV

The Searchers is one of my favorite movies. It's absolutely beautiful. Maybe my favorite John Wayne film too.

lol, there's an official Creator Island for this in Fortnite. Mostly a cinematic thing, several minutes of content - 8277-4629-0542

If you bring your political leanings into this movie you might have a bad time

Movie nerd shit:
Cinematography kinda pissed me off the first half. So many fucking close face shots. Felt so lazy. But then at the end there was shit I'd never seen before (the road shots in the chase) which I thought was so good

I don't like being beaten over the head with messaging

This is PTAs Don't Look Up, albeit much more well done. i still liked it, but I felt the laziness.

There's one thing that would've redeemed this movie for me:

If lockjaw actually loved his daughter and was doing all this to find her and tell her that. That he actually hates racists and joined the Christmas group so he could kill them all ... Now that would've been awesome.

Nope. One dimensional trash.

I still appreciate the power of a PTA film tho
