You need to understand where he's coming from. He works the night shift at a gas station and everyone thinks he's creepy. So a good word from him for someone he knows from a forum is worrisome unless he specifies it's from the racist nazi forum, not the other ones.

Not sure what's your lower end of pay you'd look at, but they usually have some contact manager openings in one state or another at the companies holding FPS contacts. Low to mid 100's. Triple canopy, First Coast security solutions, paragon although they are known as hot dog shit, etc.

Have you already looked at Cellebrite and Magnet Foreneics? Every time we have a product demo it seems to be presented by prior LEO. Might also be worth looking into the smaller digital forensic start ups and hoping to cash in during an acquisition.

Have you been to Redmond? Spend some time there if not and feel it out. It's uber expensive to live within an hour commute of MS. I used to commute from Tacoma and getting stuck in traffic on the 405 for 2+ hours in the morning was not uncommon.

Other than that, MS pay and benefits are top notch. They've got a Ferrari club out there so if you get the big signing bonus you can always buy one and join up lol.

Job search is fuckin soul crushing right now. Maybe everything will work out, but you're not a curry-American.

I've had more than one job be "super interested" in me only to either be pulling my fuckin chain for 6 weeks or fill the job before they got around to interviewing me. I just had a recruiter try to reschedule an interview today for next week and I just bowed out rather than waste my fucking time with that shit.

I’ll add TRM Labs to the mix too. They do great work as well if you’re interested in blockchain analysis investigations.

CACI also has some cool SaaS LEO programs and has always seemed like a stand up company.

lastly, Spur Intelligence is worth looking into, they aren’t strictly used for LEO.
