Well, I was also let go by my company after 18 years on this project. Not sure how I feel about it. So my company just won the new contract from the government to continue the project. Part of winning the new contract they had a key personnel list. I was one of those key personnel listed on the contract bid. I had to turn in a special resume and sign a letter of commitment. Then a month after winning the contract I was let go. But we had a head count of about 140 people and the new contract only supports 85 people. ( My own ballpark calculations) That is a lot of people to let go and I was let go in the third round.

I was really bummed at first but after looking around there are many listings for the system I support. If I am willing to move this could potentially turn into a pay increase. Still kind of naws at me that I got picked.

My contracts up for bid so might be joining you! Only saving thing is I'm single point of failure for some pretty big applications. Guy that worked with me and would fill it while I was on vacation already got laid off so at least he cant steal my job. Was an awesome dude though.

Is there no whistleblower type of thing you can do? Seems like they sort of used your name/qualifications to win the contract, but didn't have any intention of actually retaining you.
