the amount of "your and you're", "than and then", "there, they're, and their", "should of, could of, would of" etc on this forum drives me batty..

If I had a nickel for each post that I deleted rather than submitted in response to the grammatical shenanigans that this forum perpetuates... I thought that the average age and thus level of education was much higher on these forums.

I'm the biggest offender. And you know why? Because I just don't give a fuck. I just finished my first semester in college, wrote over a dozen papers, and received an A in 101, and B in 102. (only because I skipped a paper that was due because of the birth of my twins). I care when I write papers for my english professor, but I give no fucks when posting on RR. Sorry. But not really.

Yeah, I fuck up on it's/its sometimes. I know the difference, but don't really stop to think about it. I won't make that kind of mistake on a thesis or proposal, but fuck if I'm going to stop and proofread the stream-of-thought bullshit that I post on the internet.

The weirdest common mistake? I have a tendency to type, 'rididculous'. Why? I have no fucking idea. But I catch myself doing it constantly. It's like a weird muscle memory thing, and I would love to know why it happens. It's the only word that happens with, too.

lol...

says the guy that typed up a thesis about how this game's development relates to getting snubbed by a mail order prom date.

That linguistics study is interesting, though I think using its findings to describe the entire paradigm of the misuse and misspelling of words by the greater forum community is quite a stretch.

Y'all are just dumb, and don't deserve that much credit... even if your google fu is strong enough to find examples of studies like that one.

I'm of a different opinion, in that I try to ensure what I write in public forums it written the same as if I was writing papers in school. It really isn't any harder to write things correctly.

The only Unity game I've put any time into is Kerbal Space Program. Not sure if the latest version is multithreaded or you have to pay extra to look under the hood, but C# .NET multi-threading will help with background resource loading and a separate physics thread.. The physics can bring slower CPUs down in KSP because they can't offload the physics to another thread or the GPU.
