We've for sure got weapon types segregated by archetype (quarterstaff on monk, bow on ranger, crossbow on merc) but it's less obvious if there's going to be The Minion Ascendancy or The Totem Ascendancy.
I thought they've already said that weapons aren't going to be segregated? That you can use any weapon on any class?

What I meant was like there's crossbow shit on the witch hunter. If you want to do crossbow shit they'll probably be what someone is looking for.

Only in nearby nodes on the tree, and maybe small passives in the Ascendancy.



If you look and search for specific weapons/damage there's not really anything. Fire witch doesn't get 40% more fire damage or anything. The elemental monk gets extra lightning/cold, chayula monk gets extra chaos, but there's no big more % to a specific damage. Even the Witch Storm Weave has a node that makes ALL damage shock. They did away with +gooder at and added actual specific mechanics that can be applied all to all sorts of skills. Like there's no + to minion anything besides maybe some 8% nodes in the Ascendancy and the Hell Hound and SRS are minions, but they're not required to make other minion builds work.

hourglass seems like a bad tradeoff on paper. +35% more damage, +8s cooldown. (level 1 I suppose, maybe ranks help it alot)

I was leaning on chronomancer first. but, I don't really see any skills that obviously fit into the time stop skills. although. I just said hourglass, and the CD reset skill haha...

the other thing I see that seems neat is "fortress" support. which turns Wall spells into circles. Circle wall, +aoe projectile, or push spell for ice wall might be neat. (ive not actually identified what pushed hard enough would actually mean. "The wall will shatter if sufficiently damaged, or if pushed hard enough, dealing damage around the broken sections."

Can see a lot more synergy here especially when grouping. There's a fire channeling skill called volcano that creates a volcano that shoots fireballs while channeling but will shoot even more when hit by slam skills, so good pairing for a fire mage and someone spec'd in slams.

The Autismos sure are having a field day with every little scrap.

I haven't even watched any of the playthroughs. Kept to watching the trailers and small clips like that.

Looking forward to do a slow run with a minion build and try figure it out myself and maybe explore every area in act 1-3 fully.

I'm sure I will fall into the build guide meta in a few months.

Just me or does it seem like minion stuff gets 5 times as many jewels than anything else combined. I know it's RNG but seemed like every jewel I picked up early on had minion something on it, or more than one.
