Even after the nerf, I find myself using gas grenade off screen and exploding it from afar on a lot of packs. Moving from tower to tower on the "Tower" tile set, where you cross the bridges to each little circular castle? Thats all I can do to not die in maps like that.

it does. its based on cast time.
.7s frost wall. 70 energy.
.8s ice bomb. 80 energy.
1s+1s comet. 300 energy. (.1 per base, and x2 for the extra +1 total cast time)
if you slot frost wall AND ice bomb, it will be 70+80 and cast at 130 energy.

That guy is clearing with Lightning Rod + Lightning Arrow, and then adding Voltaic Mark and Electrocuting Arrow for single target. I don't think it's the trigger, more that he's just going through all the trouble GGG wants him to.

We don't have all the skills and with the skills we do have the level divisions are substantial with tiers at 14, 22, 31 41 and 52. It's just bad for skill diversity early because you just don't have many choices and it's bad later because players are loathe to rearrange their characters to try something else. If everything is going just fine with LA why would invest in a swap to Magnetic Salvo at 52?

I dont understand the math on my own build, exactly. Especially when compared to the nerf of the Sorcerer's Comet cast time. Gas Grenade by itself, an enemy takes about 5600 damage. If I explode the gas, each gas bomb that overlaps (area of effect) multiplies an explosion number of 7118. Each Gas Grenade cast has 5 Grenades that come out. Thats followed up by the Explosive Grenade's explosion, which has 6 grenades that overlap, that do 3970 a piece. If Im doing the math correctly ... Thats 65,000 damage in the CENTER of the cast.

I can scale down my damage quite a bit for survivability, Ive found. So a Dev would do a lot of good telling us why a build that can put out that much damage in a 5 second period, is comparable to... Sorcerer's Ice Comet interactions?...

Ice Wall trivialises Phase 2, Phase 1 it doesn't work his model is too small - which is what I was referencing.

That's Ice Wall being broken, not Cast on Freeze - Comet.

Definitely. I took the offense and defense up center. Then the two big swirlies in NNE quadrant. At that point pets can tank and smash quite nicely. After that I did a beeline up to the spirit cost reducer. Now I am doing the big circle in the NW quadrant. Cutting revive time down make a huge difference.

Well the biggest problem for me on my ranger is I don't know why I'd use any of the skills right now. None of them do anything except the one attack I dump all my passive skills into.

Like you'd think baseline, you'd be able to use any skill that does damage and they'd all be about equal dps single target or aoe, and that there might be some penalties if they do CC or whatever. The reality is a lot are completely useless to start, and some even if you dump all your points into it.

For example poison cloud arrow, even with all my points focused on poison damage and ailments, kills a regular mob in a couple minutes. Meanwhile the poison arrow itself does about the same poison damage but the phys arrow and the explosion are crazy amounts more.

Up to Tier 9 on Minion Build and still steam rolling. The Ascension Trials can fuck right off. Failed 3 Sanctums and now I don't even get keys for them anymore.

Think I'm done for now with the Minions. It's just bigger dmg at this point. Want the Necromancer and Spectres etc added to the game.

Will take a small break from it and try a Monk I think.

I'm at the first trial, level 21 and I think I'm just under leveled. I'm gonna try again mid - late 20's. Not sure where to go to level up though, I guess just re-run older locations?

Just keep following the campaign. The Trial you can come back to at any time.

So I've seen lots of people taking skills from multiple passive trees, and I can't quite figure out how they're doing it. Anyone done it and can explain?

You talking about weapon swap? You get a certain amount of points you can allocate to a specific weapon swap so when you swap your tree changes to that weapons points

Okay I'm gonna start Cruel when I get home tonight.....is there any differences from the first time through aside from higher levels? Do you get different rewards for the side quests or should I just worry about the main quest?

It was the same rewards all over again. Just level adjusted monster and bosses I think.
