Yeah im kinda thinking they should just leave it be at this point. I mean so many people spent some mad hours setting this shit up and left them with a bad taste in their mouth. Fix the shit after the league. I mean, the inflation is already here, people that want to catch up cant now, its just fucked from both ways.

If they wanted to patch this they should have caught it in the beginning and crushed it. Now? A few weeks after, and even after they buffed it some more? Yeah, this shit kinda whack.

This is very offbrand. They rarely fuck with the golden goose this far into a league. The whole point of having leagues is you can let this shit ride and start over. This is really going to piss some people off. I'm casual enough to where idc, but the decision bugs me.

The temple stuff is pretty blah anyways. Hopefully this actually fixes the server lag they said it was causing. The lag has been wild.

In a league where FOMO was riding tall in the saddle and many players felt like the economy was passing them by seeing GGG pull the ladder up after the professionals made all their money is going to be one tough pill to swallow. The changes to temple construction took a lot of people's hard work and threw it in the dumpster. Even if they adjust temple construction again in the next few days anyone that did something other than let their temple sit in hopes of said changes is going to be furious. Again.

For me this is the first time I think a league mechanic really got away from GGG. What does a fully constructed temple look like, how long does it take, what amount of RNG is involved, what ways can the rules regarding room placement be bent, etc. If they weren't juggling two games with a holiday on top this might not have happened but here we are.

They should've just left it. Who cares if the league economy is a wash. Do they not remember Affliction?

Well its all rush rush rush with managing 2 games now so im sure you will see more shit like this in the future. And Christmas/NY break didnt help either. Its just a bad time to drop a league and then go absent for 2-3 weeks. Im sure if they were all in the office seeing shit play out in real time, they could have adjusted shit right there and then when it was just starting to get out of hand but you and I know in a game like this 2-3 weeks is a fucking lifetime when shit like this exists. Plus it does not help that Chris Wolcen is gone. He used to be the economy guy. I remember his 1000 word theory dissertations back years ago whenever they made a change to something in the econ of the game. You also saw this in the last POE1 league. You can also argue that that league got out of hand with drops and shit, even early on people were scoring t1 6links still in campaign. I mean you THINK you want the game like this but you really dont. And the drop off of the last POE1 league really showcased this. I think they are just letting these games get out of hand now with wolcen gone.

So now they go and nerf shit and best of all it was a poorly thought out nerf that basically effected all the up and comers, not the ones that were raking in thousands of divines the past 2 weeks. Yeah they got the nerf too in drop rates but their already built up Temples are still dropping 50-70 div each. Like WTF?

This is why you just let shit go. Its too late. The damage is already done so who cares? Whats done is done. Shit league on to the next, lessons learned. This is why they have leagues to begin with. Wipe in 2 months with a clean slate. Instead they just angered the entire player base with not so well thought out changes. And the first thing they will have to do coming back from a well deserved break is damage control.

I made like 50+ divs yesterday farming Fracture orbs and various Omens. Started snaking the temple during that but damn it takes time.

Doubt anything will change for me besides the market readjusting prices again.

Got my headhunter and the build is pretty much complete. Wolf Minions, I hope it does not get nerfed, it's quite fun and safe to play.

Ban for what, running campaign maps for non RNG league mechanics?

If only they could have predicted that by fixing it like 2years ago in PoE1 and not forgot to fix it in PoE2 also. Hell if I remember correctly in Synthesis they had the exact same issue of people farming tiles in campaign to path faster to the good rewards?

That was no exploit, they just completely fucked up their balancing by not tying the rewards to map level(which they usually always do) so that building a low level temple from campaign actually gave stupid rewards. This is entirely their fault for poorly balancing the league mechanics, again and again, this time instead of being completely fucking worthless and having to buff it 14times in a row(which granted looked like it was going to be in the first week or so), they fucked it up the other way. But this isn't like some fancy exploit.

The timing is unfortunate(right during their xmas vacations) so they couldn't repond quickly but that's also self inflicted due to poor planning and management.

Also they hotfixed it and completely fucked that up too, since apparently the fix didn't reset temples so people with perfectly setup temples are still getting tons of rewards(although they hotfixed again to nerf that too), while anyone who was in the process of setting it or haven't yet just gets fucked(although they're buffing the rewards for the plebs, only ~10 hotfixes to go for the rewards to be good).

I don't think he did?

Like Pyros said, farming the highest level campaign zone for filler for a league mechanic has been around for fucking ever. The thing that fucked them was the hotfix that boosted the temple to lvl 80 once your character was 90. Before that they had to blast maps. Some streamers even immediately saw that and said "I don't think that's a good idea" and voila, Holten farming.

Usually they have it coded better with a -10 level threshold, but I guess downscaling and party play and shit made it a problem as well. Watching the reaction from "Temple is SHIT" to "TEMPLE IS TOO GOOD FOR THESE GUYS" to "TEMPLE ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME" is pretty entertaining.

He made it pretty clear in the video abusing the holten respawn would of netted you a ban
It likely wouldn't have, had they fixed it quickly so the impact was minimal. PoE1 bans were very random(even back when Chris was still there), where sometimes they'd ban, and sometimes not.

Old drama video from Ziz from Ultimatum league and he goes over some of past exploits that did get bans and many more that didn't, which means they were inconsistent as fuck back then.

The likely problem is they got to it too late, and way too many people had started "exploiting" so they just couldn't bother banning anyone cause it'd be too many people/too much work to track where the ressources went after.

Ultimatum was different because Empy's group was actually in the beta and reported the bug there and then exploited it during live.

But yeah, like Chris ACTUALLY SAYS clever game logical and abuse are a fine line. Some of these bugs they had the raw #'s behind what they produced and nuked them (empy's group) often if they felt they were actually influencing the economy with too small a group of economic influencers.
