Thats not what I got at all from his interview. I understood it as hating having the base game (campaign) being developed at the same time as leagues, and when the 1.0 is done and it's just league mechanics it will be less stressful.

But he is the campaign/casual kind of player from what I've heard from him.

I'm kind of the same as I usally get bored real fast after the campaign and the build gets 90% complete. It happens in all games for me. I can only grind maps for so long before I need a break.

The campaign is more serviceable now that they removed the repeating content? Or does it still feel repetitive at the extra part before maps?

Wonder how much ai has helped them in creating art for their new areas. I have much higher expectations nowadays as creating new environments should require a lot less manpower now as you can chug out art assets with ai. Would be very disapppinted if I see a lot of repetitive layouts /terrains

Last official GGG race from start to beating the act 4 boss SSF with 2.5 min death penalty took approx 2 hours. And this was across most classes that played. The winner was grenade merc but others were within 15 -20 min of him. And im hearing they are making some changes to campaign zones in .5. To streamline them even more. Now of course there will be 2 more acts added in 1.0 so of course this will prob take an extra hour or so. And of course this is racing crowd that practices this shit for 8 hrs a day every day between races. So the average player will prob 2x at best or 3x that time taking it to 4-6 hours or so if they have done it before.

Its like anything, the more you do it the faster it becomes. I mean how many times have people ran the fucking POE1 campaign over and over. Its the same shit. You get faster just by doing it more. Plus the more crafting and items plus leagues they add makes campaign faster just by the gearing available. Last leagues mechanic shit out currency and items. So did Abyss.

You mean the intermission acts? Yea it definitely feels better. In fact the zones and layout in those "acts" feels better then the confusing mess of the first 4 acts (fuck you act 3 you piece of shit)

It seems they're roughly aiming at the same campaign times as PoE1, so I'd expect ~4hours when you know what you're doing and 8hours when you do but also don't really play efficiently kind of thing, which is reasonable. Hopefully the current batch of changes cleans up some of the act 2 and act 3 areas that are ultra dogshit, they mentionned shortening the caravan map in act 2 as an example in the interview so hopefully someone figured out pulling a lever to lower water levels 26 times in a row isn't the most riveting experience.

Yeah Ive been sort of following the racing community a bit in POE2, as I enjoy watching it but not doing it, lol. Anyway they were given a warning to put any hard core practice on pause because big changes are coming to the 4 acts by some leakers.

But I think the biggest thing, like I said before, is doing several times, the repetition of it. It becomes easier every time. And also the gear and currency that drops is way more than before like in .1 or .2 so your power curve generally is a lot smoother. Back in like .1 or .2 it sucked because you were stuck at times trying to gamble for weapons and gear from the vendor because you were stuck in zdps hell. I think .3 and .4 kind of smoothed that part out a whole bunch.

If the entire game was setup to be like the interludes, I'd have 0 problem with the campaign, nor repeat playthroughs. The interludes are some of their best work in both games.

My campaign clear time correlates directly to how well of an upgraded weapon I get in late chapter 2. If I dont get one, Jamunra or w/e may or may not slow me down. But the snake bitch in Chapter 3 has so much "all but unavoidable" damage, that if my gear sucks - Ill have to go do the side quests and try to farm up something. Ive thought about watching tips and tricks videos, but comparing my campaign clear time to the autists - I just dont think Im that far off from where I "should" be as a person that has played games for most of my life. So anything I would pick up would save just a handful of minutes for me personally.

Regardless, any improvements to that are welcome. I rarely make a second character just because I dont want to do the campaign again in the same season. POE2's campaign is at least more tolerable than D4's in my opinion, because - last i played D4.. I just get so damn bored that I'd rather catch up on my sleep.

Most everything Ive seen thats "coming" looks fantastic though. Hell, most of the stuff theyve put out has been good up to a point. An acquaintance level of friend I have plays the shit out of this game and he always has a lot of shit to talk about it. But yet.. hes still playing it and he takes this game to the point of 'tism.

Yeah I am admittedly not SUPER fast at the campaign, but the later acts are draining to the point I just want to get past it and move on. If they can get it to where I look forward to act 3 + interludes, I think I'd be happier.

Still think they have no idea what they are doing, aside from making an action RPG that is the sequel to POE1. Pretty sure that post that came out way earlier was true or it at least seems like it.

They said the interludes would only be around till the campaign is done, so this is likely the last league with the interludes.

What does this even mean? Dont know what they are doing? Are you serious? Are you the dude that puts in inordinate amounts of time into POE1 leagues? So if they dont know WTF they are doing, why are you playing their game for 100+hrs a league? This game in its current broken unfinished state literally shits all over every other companys ARPG.

I mean, I've only played maybe 3 or 4 leagues in POE, but POE2 hasn't really hooked me the same.

Not only that but it's a bunch of the same systems tweaked a bit for the new game. IDK, maybe I'm just retarded which is certainly possible, but I am not currently happy where it is headed as a separate game from POE1.

Don't get me wrong.....I enjoyed the 1.5ish leagues I played, was just very underwhelmed in the fact that they specifically split the project because the scope was so large, and then they copy/pasted for the most part.

Like I said, I could be retarded, but the infinite atlas also sucks.
