The unaffected by chilled ground passive doesn't work. Still get chilled, still get slowed even though it doesn't show your character sheet change either way, but you ARE slower. Hopefully they fix that.
This patch has been HUGE in terms of all sorts of shit, but also buggy as fuck. Like, buggier than 0.1 probably. I'd say it's like a 9/10 for new content (they need to let you block content and/or SOFTEN content somehow in endgame, Delirium DR bullshit mostly) and probably like a 7/10 for game feel. The destination quest lines are cool, but they're bugged as fuck, a lot have bad quest updates, some can soft brick, and some take too many interval maps to get to the target map(s).
Definitely a step in the right direction overall, but looks like they're sorely lacking in the QA department. We've always been the REAL beta testers, but some of this stuff isn't just stuff not working like that last minute passive notable I mentioned, but full on quest lines or ascendancy's. They gotta tighten their shit up.

So I've never played the first one, is it worth starting on it and just playing through the campaign so know the story and everything and then trying this one out?
Yep. Same thing. I was up at 5am this morning and not a single lag spike until about 8 am. Gradually got worse until 10 am or so and the game becomes damn near unplayable.Yeah, it's pretty sad that the single biggest issue with PoE2 now is their technical stuff. There's certain times of day where the game is simply unplayable. I log in and the latency meter constantly spikes from 35ms to 6000ms and then disconnects. I've tried everything--changing servers to EU or asia to avoid primetime or even just afternoon on DC or Canada East, changing chat channels to some random number no one else is using, etc. It's not my internet, I can switch over to playing Division 2 without so much as the slightest bit of lag. The only solution that works is "wait a few hours and try again". The problem is that PoE2 forces you to use the garbage 'lockstep' networking mode instead of having a 'predictive' option like in PoE1. GGG knows that nobody uses lockstep when given the choice, so why the fuck are we stuck with it here?
Maybe just watch a story/lore recap then start playing this one.So I've never played the first one, is it worth starting on it and just playing through the campaign so know the story and everything and then trying this one out?
No you have to play the first one first and you can't come to the second one until you've done all your ubers. So I've never played the first one, is it worth starting on it and just playing through the campaign so know the story and everything and then trying this one out?

No. The narrative isn't bad or poorly executed but it's definitely secondary. That said, I rarely play games for story since I think gameplay and narrative are already difficult to execute well by themselves, seamlessly integrating both is quite rare. So, I might be biased. Been playing for ten years, barely know the story. So I've never played the first one, is it worth starting on it and just playing through the campaign so know the story and everything and then trying this one out?
I think that paying zero attention to any of the 'story' in poe 1 or 2 is the best way to go about it, personally. So I've never played the first one, is it worth starting on it and just playing through the campaign so know the story and everything and then trying this one out?

Yeah, I just can't do that. I went ahead and made a Templar and I'm playing through the first game and Jesus is it massive shift from Diablo. It's not bad, kind of reminds me of Diablo 2 sort of with the speed of things, but it's pretty jarring. Maybe it's just the first act though.I think that paying zero attention to any of the 'story' in poe 1 or 2 is the best way to go about it, personally.
The story isn't like atrocious, it's just fairly simple and can be confusing at times if you don't read every optional dialogue. Unlike Diablo 3/4, they don't really force you to sit through any of it so it's easy to miss parts, and a bunch of it is for world building more so than being relevant.Yeah, I just can't do that.
