No I haven’t saved 2k divs on tabs, I craft my own and don’t buy the meta expensive tablets, I have currently 2k divs in my stash and probably 2500 div worth of gear on my spirit walker not counting the gems.
Once in a while one of these monsters spawn out of bounds though and then it's just immortal.
Should just put a timer as a safety measure, if you're in range for x seconds(like say 20), the next wave spawns. If it's the last wave, trash mobs despawn after say 30seconds. Sure technically you could afk clear them but it'd be terribly inefficient so I don't think that matters(also you'd need to be able to facetank them). And this way if there's a mob that decides to spawn off the map, under the ground, in a blocked area or whatever other fuckery, you still get your rewards if you wait. There's some screenshots on reddit of ppl losing 10divs or Aldur's Legacy to mobs spawning off the map and shit.
Funny thing is, I ran into one this morning and I was basically kiting all over the place until I noticed how it worked. I was like "What is this, some bullshit timed invulnerability shit?"

Shit happened to me so much in simulacrums I had to quit doing them until
I would guess he has weapon spec points in things and a lot of the online passive trees poorly indicate this. Sometimes they're indicated by different colors for weapon 2 points like green, but then the weapon 1 only points are still the same color. That would be my guess.
It's only overwhelming because gamers have this weird fetish where they feel like they have to do EVERYTHING, ALL AT ONCE!!!

Also, on tab storage - I learned the hard way not to purchase the "Bundle" to get the tabs for this season that they were selling. Shit gave me double tabs for a lot of dumb shit like Currency, flasks, etc. Emailed CS and got it refunded and they warned "Weeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllll we're going to do it just this once!!!! But we wont do it again!!!" .. Stupid fucks. If you would just sell the bundle at a discounted rate for the tabs already owned, that would be way smarter than selling people a bunch of redundant tabs they'll never use. Thats how I thought it would work, anyways. But whatever. Now I just have like 400 points sitting on the account for future tabs or whatever. Just annoying having to wait on tabs to go on sale before buying each time.
