So a buddy of mine is going to start playing it and I planned on the leveling up a character with him. He played it I guess originally when it came out but I told him it's pretty great considering I had never played it before and I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

What other classes are worth a damn and just a lot of fun? I guess the guy I'm currently playing is a monk. I just have no clue about any of the other classes and builds or what have you.
I'm really enjoying plant abyssal lich and it's easy. Last season I played POEGuy's totem titan and it wasn't fast but watching whole screens explode was fun.

The Titan stuff is all warrior right? I don't know anything about them, let alone see them or I guess none of my buddies are playing one. I guess I just didn't kind of look at it because so many of the other weapons just aren't available, and you would think that warriors would have two handed swords and whatever.

Mace skills can be pretty clunky, they're not for everyone and take knowledge to make work. Depends on your play style. Spell wise, spark and entangle are solid across multiple ascendancy's and you can also make some tanky versions if you don't like dying a lot. Bow/Spears have a few skills that everyone jumps on at league start so check there if you like ranged.

Is there some sort of like auradin mace shield shit you can do, or is it not with your time?

I was bored. Wanted to make a gemling some or another and remembered the forks were a thing and took 3 of my dudes until I got the rune. Also got a natural mageblood drop. I didn't keep perfect track but I think it was 82 uhtreds to get 3 runes (feels lucky), 7 aldurs sagas (all but 1 came from unique tablet to 2x fallen star) and a ton of other loot just boss rushing and doing expeditions that looked like they would spit out at least 10d minimum. Most fun farm I've done all season.

I’m extremely worried about the map issue in this game. They did so many awesome things this patch, the game is so much better now, and I love the direction of the cool little shit they did like the first to hit 100 and sacrifice gives everyone +1 passive, and the hidden cool quests and shit is an awesome idea.

But the maps are such a fundamental part of the game play and you can only put so much lipstick on a pig. I don’t know if this is a limitation of their engine or what the fuck is going on but they need to go back to the drawing board and make some non shitass maps, even if it means just blatantly stealing some poe1 layouts, just fucking do it.

basilica, mesa, racecourse, canyon, beach, strand - the list goes on. I feel like there is some constraint with their random map generator algorithm or whatever it’s called, forget the term, that is making everything a meandering mess; it feels like every map layout is the same and that is the design from the fucking maze during eater’s mini boss.

Play anything Gemling, nearly anything you’re doing can be converted to Gemling and done so amazingly.
I've actually just been leveling one as my second character, I guess the biggest reason I was asking about another class was my buddy was planning on starting the game and I was going to help him level, so I figured I would start a new character. I just don't know what else is out there and what's worth looking at.

The gemling is apparently is super versatile, and that's why I went ahead and made it my second character.

I did see some video I think of a druid that was turning into a dragon and breathing fire and summoning an army of wolves and stuff. That looked like it might be fun but I don't know if they're good.

There are some okay Wyvern builds. Shapeshifting isn't in a bad place but also is not top of the meta. You could do all content with the wyvern builds. Honestly, you could do all content with almost any build.

I've just been trying to watch some different videos about various builds and unfortunately it's all the same sort of meta bullshit, I guess that's what it's called. Probably the reason I went ahead and leveled up the gemling they seem flexible enough to tinker around maybe make something fun.

I just didn't know if any of you guys who played the game much longer have something wacky and is just a lot of fun and out of left field.

Unfortunately when you search for builds, the algorithm is going to spit a bunch of meta bullshit at you. For example, I typed in pathfinder builds and the first two pages were all deadeye bullshit. And then when you look at them, they're all rakiatas/garukhans. Yeah, no shit, stuffing 600 div worth of gems into your builds makes it great, huh?

I don't even know what those two gems do, but I see them mentioned all the time and stupid streamer videos talking about their faggoty builds. Have I looked them up, nope, because like you said apparently they're super expensive and I'm just cruising through on Old Man mode.

Also when the hell did the word "tech" become some sort of gamer gayness slogan for a strategy or build element. It's giving me late 90s early 2000s PWNed flashbacks.

I really hate twitch streamers and the massive birth of all of these supposed video game people. And you know damn well they never cut their teeth on some old shit that you actually had to install off of a floppy disk or multiple CDs.

If you watch this series, it is not only often hilarious, but also showcases some interesting variety (and meta) builds.

Of all the stupid YouTube video game twitch streamers, you had to post that fucking weirdo. I remember seeing him pop up when Diablo 4 originally released, and I just can't stand him, He's got a gay lisp, and needs to cut his hair, because he's a fag.

1. Tech has been around forever. I think I first heard in in the FGC.

2. Those gems are expensive, but they are (somewhat) farmable. One of the best way to make currency is to boss rush farm tablets and travel around the maps trying to reveal "anomalies" via a master skill. Anomalies can spawn the fights for those gems, (Jade Isles and the other one I forgot). Then you fight those bosses with specific tablet setup where you get much higher chance to drop the gem and can even do it again (this requires a decent character and investment).

3. The reason they are so expensive is they essentially double your DPS.

Thanks, I honestly didn't know, but also, tech...

For cheap stuff, look up the league starter builds from a month ago. Most of those are still super cheap to get rolling.

Rakatas basically is for elemental builds which take the mobs resistances and inverts them. So if they have 50% fire. It makes it so its -50%.

The other gem is for crit builds. Which rolls your crit twice and takes the best result.

They both need to be nerfed to the ground because once you have them it basically makes all content even more trivial than it already is at end game if you have a meta build.
