Man, I've been occasionally and casually levelling a Monkey Spirit Walker build through the acts and the transition from Crowbell to the Monkey is quite something. And then stack some attack speed on him and it's outta control. Impressive.

But I think I will do the plant caster build for 0.55 now that I have at least dabbled in the spirit walker.
Last season I did Deadrabbits lich plant and it was stupid easy and really good.

New league plant build is pretty marginal damage in the early game. Yeesh. Having to actually avoid mechanics, and def not doing any Rituals!

I'll be honest I'm not really feeling it. I will give it a go tonight but I do want new content, like the full campaign and new classes and shit like that. It's kinda the same as 0.4/0.5.

Well the plant skills picked up a bit. But, goddamn, the campaign for this game is a slog; just using random uniques dropped from my previous build made the Spirit Walker Monkey build SO much easier to negotiate the campaign. Starting fresh is.......ugh.

The Rituals are okay for currency through the campaign so far, but that's pretty much it.

Powered through Act1 and to the first Trial. Game gets so much better when you get some good dmg.

Varashta Djinn nuking everything.

I wanted to come back to try some new builds but the thought of going through the acts is keeping me away.
Maybe it's just me but I honestly really enjoy the campaign. I know when I made my second character I just played through it like it was my first and had fun because I was learning a new class and new skills. I would however imagine if you guys have been playing it for years it might become a chore.

I also love Starfield though...

The campaign will be fine once they get the other acts out. Right now its still bloated with zones that shouldn't even exist, especially in act 3, just so they have enough content to get us to maps. It'll also help if they ever fix early game itemization since they never implemented vendor recipes yet didn't put in any mechanism to replace them.

I just know the first time when I went into the past to go to the Vaal city, I was like what the hell this is really cool. You're invading an ancient civilization like a conquistador, slaughtering the heathens. And then I have to fight Aztec Iron Man in a giant robot spider. I mean for a wacky action RPG video game story that was pretty great. Then Doryani joins the team and he's one of the coolest characters in the whole deal.

I think the biggest thing with the game come out is I can finish the story because I think it's pretty damn good, despite having slogged through the first game I'm glad I did because I at least understand everything up to this point.

Did you play poe 1? This story arc was so much better since Doryani is only ever referenced in poe 1 but you never encountered him.

I did and I remember having to ask you guys questions when I was playing through the campaign because I didn't understand how the goddamn game worked. I specifically went and played through the first one because my buddies wanted me to play the second one, but I said wait I'm not jumping into a game where I don't understand the backstory.

But I'm glad I did. The story in the first one is pretty good and even with the crappier engine and the not so fun gameplay, I had a good time but was ready to be done, but the second one blows the doors off of everything.

But all of a sudden they set up in the first one you start getting some real payoffs in the second and I appreciate that. That's why I think it's one of the greatest games ever made, and I'm a hardcore convert. Part of me wishes I would have played it earlier but I'm glad I picked it up when I did because it really does feel like I finished game, and the full release this December will basically be a massive expansion that I can look forward to.

Shits gonna be great!
