I don’t understand this story talk. The campaign has been in the way of my gaming for over a decade now and continues to be my white whale. I don’t even know what connection there is between poe1 and 2 storylines if there even is one. There was some big nosed chick that had a whole lore series on YouTube I tried to watch but lost interest in a few seconds

You can't have been paying attention at all if you can't see the storyline connection between poe1 and poe2.
In poe1 the whole first half of the story is working towards destroying the beast because it's power was being used to corrupt.
In poe2 the whole story so far is trying to stop people from resurrecting the beast because it's power is corrupting.

I like the main story is that the two Brothers the innocence and sin which were deified, shaped the world, but sin ended up creating the corruption tumor, the beast, because it would seal up all of the other gods from reaching Ascension.
I mean maybe I'm wrong but I thought that was the gist of it. And there's some stuff with the Vaal, babe I think it's pretty good and I really love it.

I'm slamming 15s and honestly the endgame feels like a slog because of unlocking all the passive points. I complained about this last league as well so some of the same shit but I'm 86, killed the Arbiter once, am almost through travel maps to the ritual quest and honestly just sad that it'll be level 95 or something before the mechanics are unlocked.
My biggest issue with all of that is the mechanics aren't worth doing until you e unlocked the points. Like oh, I did a ritual and got like 2k tribute on a 6 mod t15 map. That won't even buy half the shit it's showing me. I've deferred 2 wisps now like 5 different times.

Yea I had that viewpoint as well. Feels "wasted" doing league mechanics unless you unlock all the points. Not sure what the fix should be though.
The same endgame as 0.5 is whats killing my motivation. Will give it a real try during the weekend. I do like the Varashta build, it's a good league starter and seems good in maps as well.

yeah, and then you have everything unlocked, and why are you even playing anymore?
It's an issue I don't feel like PoE has ever solved. and arguably has only gotten worse.

I am okay with just grinding maps and don't feel the need to stop once unlocking the Atlas fully but that's a me thing and I could see how others would t get the motivation.
D3 had a lot of good ideas that PoE could benefit from. The biggest though is ever escalating content. Very few people were doing rift 150 unless something was really broken. That small incremental improvement was something to continue to strive for.

i wish u could travel to any map in the atlas without to having clear 20ish or so to get to where you wanna go. I find my playing sessions are mostly wasted on clearing to reach the thing i want, than actually farming the thing i want. And if i get bored of lets say breach and want to do delirium or expedition i gotta clear bunch of maps just to open the quest line. I feel if they would let ya travel freely would be much better especially if u dont have 4 5 hours of free time to play.
