I don't think the winter orb buffs are enough to leaguestart it unfortunately. Even with full ralakesh power charge stacking nonse I struggled to hit 10m dps with it during setllers, so having no items/currency it's gonna be misery even with a ~20% buff.

I'll probably try it as my second build tho

You're probably right. Ward-stacking Elementalist with Nightgrip? Call of the Void or Shaper of Winter to encourage HoI chaining.

Is there a reason not everyone uses frostblink of wintry blast with archmage to just blitz to endgame? Saw videos of that shit and seemed wildly retarded overpowered. I’m sure it can’t kill bosses but for blasting campaign and early maps but be the fastest

Saw a video a couple days ago about BAMA(or well just BA I guess) for leveling, like buy the gem asap and then just blink arrow around as your clones kill everything, and you can do the trick where you use haste then clone with a 2nd normal mirror arrow and as long as you keep refreshing the clone before it disappears it gives you haste for free, so you can zoom zoom. It also melts bosses.

Only downside is you need to get the gem.

Even BAMA falls off as you get closer to maps. I suspect whatever video you saw on "just" frostblink + archmage wasn't being honest about incidental support from the passive tree.

edit - I've done BAMA a few times now, noting to uber content, but it always feels just a little wierd to me to play. I guess I play like a spaz because even with the good damage and generally high quality of life the tiny cooldowns gnaw at me like a popcorn kernel stuck in my teeth.

Yea I did BAMA twink leveling once and it felt kind of janky and has weird fall offs (that I was probably inducing on myself tbf). Still the speed is undeniable.

Think I'll try the snaking thing. Is it hcssf friendly?

They're totems. You like totems, so that might actually help. But it's my main reason for dropping them. I hate dropping clones into empty space, I'd much rather react to a pack when I see it like a normal build. Which is a shame because the build otherwise has so much potential for theorycrafting, especially this league.

I had the cooldown issue too. If you follow pr3vie's bible, which most of the playerbase does, so you might be even if you don't know it, he's a tryhard that doesn't mind pressing lots of buttons. These are the same types that don't get annoyed with low cooldown skills not quite being low cooldown enough to keep up with map clearing. I can't recall him recommending building blink and mirror arrow for clear, just one. When I tried putting GMP and pierce on the prismatic skill, the "I want to drop a totem but can't" frustration went way down. Rounding corners and indoor maps where the clones behind are obfuscated, it's still going to come up.

I think Nightgrips are actually gonna be giga busted with the glove runes + generic defense scaling from stone golems on elementalist.

Plan on buying the biggest pair I can like day 2 before people see some korean on poeninja with 50m dps.

I doubt Elementalist will be able to stack more than Antiquarian, and some non-rushing shlub like me was able to buy ward related gear relatively late into Phrecia.

Endgame is probably PBoD. That's what I did in Affliction with my charge stacking WOrb slayer. Doubt we can get as much area, but should be able to get much more damage on HoI.

I very much doubt the continual mana cost will trigger Kitava's Thirst. IIRC, channeled mana consumption won't.


If that Chain Hook lets me drag monsters around the map, I'm gonna RP some Karsa character.

Part of me wants to start rolling magma traps and just figure it out as I go but with how long it has been between leagues it's not worth risking getting platinum mad at the game for my own idiocy. I'd really like to have a smooth time and save the ball busting for a later reroll.
