What do you mean by socket pattern? Just as a fyi if you didn't read patch notes, they remove socket colors as natural drops, stuff drops white baseline, so if by patterns you meant color patterns then that's normal. If you mean you can't see sockets at all though that's weird, unless you're playing Path of Exile 2.

I see a screenshot on reddit that seems to still have patterns on it(swirlies on blue, X pattern diamonds on green) so not sure what the problem is for your client.The pattern that you can turn and off the surrounds sockets for color blind people. Like one color is 3 things in a radiating pattern. It was added to help color blind people. The setting is still in game for default (regular sockets), small, and large. In the settnigs text file each change makes the setting change to 0,1, or 2. But in game it doesn't do anything. Notches. I only get round plain sockets no matter the setting.
Tings like this at the bottom, where it shows large pattern of nothces. The swirly thing around blud, the spikes around red and the shorter deals around green.

I sent a customer support thing to GGG and they said they didn't know. I thought someone else might have experienced that.
You could try wiping the shader caches(not sure if it'd affect UI stuff but well might as well) as well as all the settings(can put them somewhere else for backup), since reinstalling usually doesn't uninstall settings and there might be some fuckery from an older version.
