So guys how does AC: Valhalla compare to AC: Odyssey?
I had only ever played one of the original ACs back on a buddies PS3 for a bit and absolutely hated the control scheme* so never really got in to it. For the record the witcher III has the same problems, but I forgave it since the storyline was so good. But AC seemed dumb/not as involved and I really couldn't accept how shitty the movement was for what was, at the time, a stealth/platformer.
*too much inertia/forward momentum, you move like a fucking horse wearing roller skates, and the "adaptive/predictive" joy stick control is fucking aids. back means back but sometimes it means go forward if my camera is slightly facing that way but now it doesn't do that because i'm going down a ladder and why the fuck don't I have jump? I just have X and x sometimes does jump sometimes does tumble and sometimes does nothing all based on what the game thinks i'm trying to do contextually, its fucking aids. Yes i'm hanging on a cliff but i'm 0' above the ground, my feet are literally touching the ground. I want to go down. let go of the wall. let fucking go. WTF? Ok fine won't let me disengage or dodge off, let me jump. Fucking aids, why the fuck does jump have me doing a sommersault 30 feet the opposite direction and swan diving down the other side of the cliff 300 feet into the water? fuck....
Anyway it seems that by Odyssey at least (if not before, again I never really played this series) it became more of an open world RPG and they fixed most of the movement issues (except for the predictive joy stick movements, that gay shit is still in). if they just added a button that was always mapped to "let fucking go of the god damn wall you retard" then it would be perfect.
I mean not really, climbing is fucking retarded as shit. Like whats the point of putting so much vertical "obstacles" ie mountains and canyons and shit into the world? (climbing in the city to break into houses is fine for climbing) I can literally free climb everything from level 1 up sheer cliff faces? All vertical elevation in the open world is equivalent to fucking quick sand pits that just make me travel slower so that the world feels bigger, its fucking retarded.
Anyway I know that rant sounds like i hate the game but i'm actually quite enjoying it, and wondering if Valhalla is similar or improved or what? I think Valhalla came out after so hoping there are improvements, hopefully with the control scheme, or since it came out more recently does that mean its more woke and designed by more blue haired trannies or what?
