Burn the heretic.
PlayStation goes extinct. Xbox is extinct. Nintendo lives on, the sole survivor of the AI and Digital Cybercaust. FromSoftware historically views PC as an ancillary market.

Miyazaki is now playing with power.

tweet deleted so not sure what it said but i assume something like god of war laundry cost $300m?

GTA 6 is $2b cost apparently, but thats gonna make its money back.

007 First Light apparently cost $200m according to a recent danish news report, its sold 3m copies in its first 2 weeks so probably will be profitable and likely has some government funding too. I do wonder about the James Bond licensing stuff, but Amazon seems happy to continue working with IO.

shit like Wolverine, Laundry, Intergalactic Space Lesbians, etc is a lost cause though. Wolverine is interesting since the marvel licensing fee has to be huge, a big reason why we don't get a ton of star wars games anymore.

I let my ps subscription expire and not renew. Honestly the "fee" is too much for what you get. I'm more of an owner not a renter. I also really hate buying digital copies of shit especially if the fine print says they can remove it at any time.

What happened to owning stuff?

There’s no legit reason for a game to cost $2 billion to make.

Can someone explain the benefits of this to me? It sounds like 100% downside to me.

Like what is the idiot making this decision thinking is gained by not having buttons? I fucking despise touch controls.
People have been shitting on those sorts of controls in cars forever. It’s bad compared to real buttons. The only upside is to the manufacturer and seller because they save money. The end product is worse. Always.

they have 4000-6000 employees, GTA 6 has been in the works for 8 years full production.

If you assume $100k an employee, which is honestly low nowadays, and 5000 employees thats a burn rate of $500m a year in just keeping all those people. One of the big problems Ubisoft has, they have an insane number of employees in extremely high cost of living areas.

That many people aren’t working on it simultaneously though. There isn’t enough to create to require 5000 people.
