Yep. Who knows what the atom bomb will get used for, but you know it's blowing something up, lol. The month long thing is just them creating a suspensful "clock" that will probably get resolved in the middle of next season somehow. I will guess that it'll get used in a way that has nothing to do with protecting Carol from getting Plurb'd.

The machine gun in Breaking Bad finally getting used was so satisfying.

Yep he ended the show on a high note.
Not sticking the landing really ruins a series for me. As much as I liked the Sopranos , that BS cop out ending really ruined it for me. Same with GoT. I've tried to watch it again several times then I remember how crap the last 2 seasons were.

Anyhow back to Pluribus, I'm in it to win it. Bummed it's done but I will watch when it comes back.

I wonder if they'll end up using it to try to blow up the antenna. If that's the case, would the Plurbs try to stop them? Do they get physically violent if Carol/Manusses walks up to the antenna to sabotage it? So far it seems all you have to do is scream in their face to shut them all down.

I don't think the bomb is a dead man's switch for Carol. It's easy enough to infect her because she's completely dependent on them. Just gas her with the misters outside Sprouts when she goes to shop, lol.

The other option is Manusses engineers some EMP radio shit that can cure them, and they use the antenna to broadcast that. Yay, the universe is saved!

So let’s say they succeed in reversing the hive mind. How is every man woman and child gonna feel about being raped by carol and Patel?

We haven’t seen anyone perma freed from the hive yet, but I suspect they won’t remember anything experienced by the hive itself. It will be like a data file split amongst 6 billion people - they each store a small fragment, but the fragment is worthless without the whole. An individual human brain storing the memories of billions of people doesn’t seem feasible otherwise

This show isn't good enough to care about 3 years from now.

How the fuck can it take so long to make a show where 80%+ of it is a few people in isolated locations either alone or on small groups?

To get Vince Gilligan making an original show for them AppleTV likely had to accept a glacial production speed.

Obviously I should have used Wikipedia rather than starting a fucking MS paint drawing but here we are

Pluribus has a shit release schedule because Vince is the one driving the cart rather than pulling it. We got at whatever I speed I want or I take my show somewhere else.

Clock? What clock? She has a atom bomb dead man's switch, she has as much time as the writers need for the story to progress.

If we've learned anything from the last 20+ pages its got to be this. Logic and reasoning has fuck all to do with the plot of this show, its window dressing at best.

The hive that wont pick an apple off a tree, despite it being an evolved designed seed distribution system necessary for the trees reproduction, because it would cause "harm"; cannot poison her food with some sedative so that they may forcibly convert her while shes knocked out.

They absolutely can pick up the apple once its fallen, just like they can use her eggs to develop a custom virus for her since they've already been removed. And if they can get her alone they absolutely could use an aerosol on her to force the conversion, hence the a-bomb.

The scene with the little girl willingly converting is informative not only in that it shows they will drop the charade and pack up once the conversion happens, but also in how the specialized virus is administered. I'm sure some mcguffin will explain that it must be inhaled, can't be ingested, and they can't just chem trail the specialized virus, either its too limited for mass production or it would end up killing Manousas and thus they can't just blanket drop it, it must be administered directly.

Keeping her happy and comfortable is still right up there just below converting her on their priority list. Otherwise the girl was willing, why not fly her and her "family" to a hospital to take her marrow, make the virus, then convert her there? keeping her comfortable in her familiar setting was just as important.
I'm not sure someone as selfish as Carol is willing to blow herself up with a nuke. Even if she was smart enough to ask them to teach her how to arm it.

Plus that in no way protects her from being infected. Once she is the nuke is useless.

Correct. People that narcissistic do not kill themselves outside of screwing up a cry for attention and being successful by accident.

Finishes 5 seasons of show in basically 5 years.

Then finishes 6 seasons in 7 years...reasonable, especially since you have China Virus squished in there.

But this show should basically be on S3 of Breaking Bad by the time it comes out...except it'll be the start of S2 instead.

Fallout is the only big budget show I can think of in recent memory that actually had a decently fast turnaround, little over a year and a half between season 1 and 2. Would have been even closer if S1 was week to week.

Yeah, once you have most of the sets built it speeds up production time a fuckton. Which is why the Pluribus shit makes even less sense, because a lot of their locations were probably old BCS and BB sets.

Yeah how fortuitous that the worst person in the world who was immune to the Plurb infection also happened to live in Albuquerque. Like what are the odds?!

I will say this about Vince's shows, I can get my housecleaning done when they are on and not miss too much.

He does this with very good "slow" pacing episodes that I tend to forget about when he finishes the season with a !@#$$ memorable cliffhanger.

No idea where this will go, but I am in.
Usually me and the wife sit and pause the show to talk about what just happened and figure it out, no need with this one. You can talk for 5 minutes and it's probably just a paint the driveway montage, no need to pause.

The difference is Walter White and Saul Goodman are rational characters who descend into dark places due to circumstance, whereas Carol Sturka acts completely irrational and narcissistic in basically every scenario.

Anyway, for 9 episodes of this show, I feel like not a whole lot happened. You could skip everything but the first and last one and I don't feel like you'd miss a whole lot.
This reminds me of severance so much in style. They have this really cool concept that they don't really explain how it works and then have tons of long, unnecessary stylized scenes that the theater kids love without ever having to really delve into the topic you made the background of your show.

I used to do this with my ex. 90% of the time I’d pause and we’d discuss something, offer our thoughts on what the answer might be… and then unpause to hear the answer within the next 1-3 lines of dialogue. It became a running joke, such that our discussion was sometimes framed as “he’s about to say soandso.”

Carol is a successful writer. We see her books prominently featured at an airport book store. Dorks show up in decent number for a book signing for her newest novel. She hates her fans. She hates the drivel she writes. She hates the drivel her competition writes. She's a drunk. She's got a monogamous maybe wife in Helen who loves her unconditionally. We see them on a trip together and Carol is horrible to be around but that doesn't matter to Helen. Later on we learn that before she died Helen joined the hivemind and she truly 100% loved Carol for reals. Over the course of nine episodes we're never shown a reason for that. There's no pet the dog moment where we are given a glimpse of the person Helen fell in love with. Helen isn't there for the money either. The hivemind can't lie. Helen loved Carol deeply and truly.
I honestly thought Helen was her manager or agent in the first bit because Carol just barked orders at her (as she does everyone, as we found out) and wasn't warm to her at all.

Me and the wife binged this over the last few days and honestly most of it was just boring. Fantastic concept and I wish we could find out the point of the virus, how it works, why these folks were immune, why their stem cells would make a virus work (??), how their consciousness actually works, do they have science and tech goals other than "spread the virus", etc etc.

We never saw any of that, so really we have no idea where this is going. Obviously Carol and Manousos are going to try to figure out how to disconnect everybody, and unless something else happens they will almost certainly fail by any rational measure. But there will be lots of cool breakfast scenes with complete craft services catering (who the fuck drinks orange juice? Seriously?) and lots of staring at each other without talking to get through to find any of that out in 2031 for season 3 or whatever.

You couldn't tell Helen had the truest love for her partner Carol and Carol the same for Helen? For shame.

To wonder what the fuck Helen ever saw in her is the lesbian cool wine aunt equivalent of wondering what the fuck Edward Cullen saw in Bella Swan. She's special the end.

I feel like this describes just about every "mystery" show lately. Cool concept for a first season and it's clear they had no fucking clue what to do with it after that.

Yellowjackets, From, Stranger Things, Severance, Westworld, Leftovers, even a comedy like The Good Place.

It makes you really appreciate shows that you can tell had an arc planned out beforehand, something like Dark or 12 Monkeys.
