How do you follow up saying it's a Disneyfied Predator movie with it wasn't terrible. That in and of itself makes it terrible.

Disney has a lot of experience being predators to be fair.

Also of course I warned my dad. My dad voted for kamala to give you an idea of how much of a stupid boomer he is, so it didn't work. He said I missed out on a good movie.

Already dead in the theaters. It is going to leave another $100,000,000.00+ hole in Disney's pocket.

This video popped up for me, never heard of the channel, but he talks bit more about the movie than that drinker vid without all the shitty jokes.

the comments in this vid bring up something that efap and all the others seem to have overlooked thats pretty huge.

Predators see in infrared/thermal vision. this movie completely ignores that despite focusing on the pov of a predator. This would be a major factor in dealing with robots/androids... AND those stupid cryo grenades. And plants.

same way the other retard said it was dogshit/10 as a predator movie yet somehow ranked it 7/10, they are retarded.

These idiots don't know how numbers, math, or rankings work, just subtract 5 points from every review they give for anything because they are unaware that there is a 1-5 available on the "X out 10" scale

beats expectations which were around $25m a week ago, so seems like guys still wanna see predators even if they are goofy looking predators

i'm still on the fence this thread is all over the place on whether this is actually a good movie or not, probably just wait for VOD

"Shatters expectations" with 38 million dollars on opening weekend. I remember when Terminator Salvation got like 53 million on opening weekend and it was considered a huge disappointment. 2009 was a different world. Sometimes our media wasn't up to par, but at least they were trying (and not intentionally shitting it up like now)

I started watching Terminator salvation, but I turned it off 20 minutes in. Should I give it another shot?

Meanwhile Demon Slayer made like a billion dollars in the theaters because it wasn't made by faggots.
This is the most odd take I've ever heard (read). Demon Slayer being anime...is literally made BY faggots FOR faggots.

Terminator Salvation is a lot more tolerable if you watch it like it's a Mad Max movie. Most of the runtime is spent in a desert area, lots of dust everywhere, everything makes big billowing black smoke including super high-tech robots, ragged survivors fighting over food and fuel, it's a Mad Max spinoff movie.

I didn't think it was that bad for a popcorn Terminator flick. Better than the abominations that came afterwards.

It's another movie the marketing fucked over by revealing the secret Terminator.

As far as the movie itself, it's as unnecessary as any other prequel, and frankly does nothing interesting with the machine war, but compared to much of the early CGI / quick editing era of the time, the action is shockingly competent, and it is Anton Yelchin's Reese people should be bummed he's not around to play again, not Chekov.

It's not a secret classic like The Running Man, but it definitely got harsher reviews than it should have.

Did you turn it off because it was off-putting or just didn't maintain interest? If interest, definitely give it another go.

It's a really good movie IMO. Obviously T1/T2 are better because they're better than pretty much everything. TS is the only sequel to actually do something new with Terminator, though, by trying to retell the Future War. They started early - John Connor isn't a major player yet (just a guy who fights in the Resistance, has a small and loyal squad, and does inspiring radio broadcasts), there are no battlefield T-800s or HK Tanks yet, no plasma weapons, the T-800 they encounter during the movie is the first prototype they've met - and that's both good and bad.

Bad because people wanted the Future War we saw in the flash-forwards of the previous movies, not this Mad Max looking situation. Good because starting at an early point in the war gave them a lot of storytelling freedom to develop new scenarios and flesh things out, so to speak. Like it would have been cool to see a sequel where they reverse-engineer the new plasma weapons that the machines have started using, and so forth. TS was supposed to begin a trilogy and I assume the other two would have led up to the 2029 defeat of Skynet. It didn't do well enough to get any sequels greenlit though. So we're left with this solo movie that's kind of a curiosity more than anything else, someone's imagining of the early Future War and what it might have looked like.

Also, Anton Yelchin plays an amazing young Kyle Reese. Like he absolutely captures all of Michael Biehn's facial ticks, mannerisms, everything. He's probably the highlight of the whole movie.
