I popped on during the stress test made a night elf and new racials seem cool. But I didn't see any new like quests or anything.

Seen some carts I guess to transport people to the city but they were both going in the same direction and I actually ran from Starting area to Darn before they could get back to Darn so they seem kinda there.

They had a boat captain on the dock that instantly teleports you I'm guessing this is for the stress test and not live.

I don't know the way people were talking about Epoch it was supposed to be SUPER custom like completely different than regular WoW. All I noticed was a log in screen, Project Epoch at character select, and some race changes.

Like I didn't get a good taste obviously it was a peek but I'm really getting the feeling this server is getting exaggerated in how custom it is. Unless it's all custom content that is at like level 60 which is retarded.

I did Elwin 1-6 and there were new quests and mobs in that starting zone. Only a couple because that’s really early on in the leveling curve, but it’s there. Nothing in the night elf area? I’d be surprised.

Turtle wow has a staggering number of custom quests. Whatever the case may be today for Epoch I expect them to add more.

It has to do with the client. You can just straight replace stuff with HQ texturing in Turtle. Even though the client is ancient. The pic I shared was with Turtle WOW using Turtle WoW Client Mods.

You can use Reznik WOTLK-Boost in the Epoch client but it doesn't play really nicely with all of the textures. So its going to look like 2008 for at least awhile.

No layers was confirmed during the stress test. They have broken up the world into smaller chunks of what you "see" through netcode. Which is why when you travel between different areas (Dun Morogh -> Loch Modan) you will see anyone near you phase in and out of view if they are running with you. This is how they keep the server updates between peers to a minimum.

Yes, as always starter areas will be a shitshow until people get some levels and move on. But during the stress test there were 1.8k characters crammed into the human starter area and it was playable. Not perfect, but playable.

It's scattered throughout the content. I think the NE starter area had the least amount added, but they added an entire new faction (Auberdine) to the Duskwood area. If you want to see custom content right out of the box, create a gnome or troll. They each got their own starter areas (1-5) during the 2 weeks that Ascension spent trying to get the servers working.

Was thinking of going NE, but immediately boat and swim to IF, then Elwynn. I think boats and zeps were still bugged as of last night? That could squash my whole plan.

Since I already had an ascension account and they locked the character name I saved with the original epoch account that is kind of annoying. Not that I am super attached to character names.

They already committed to merging them so who cares, stick around it will work out. No queue for new server. Orc warrior is a go, Hatorade if anyone wants to group.

only thing about merging is names. i think the only reason to try and rush on is to get your name if you didnt reserve one

If you did a name reservation is it used up on the first server you pick or is it reserved on the base server that everyone will merge in to? Would think it's reserved on the base server but who knows

Pretty chill on Menethil, no issues.

menethil swayze orc hunter lots of people around everywhere but i guess in this client the dynamic respawns make it easy
