I plan on giving it a try if I can get my graphics situation figured out, but will end up on the new Turtle vs the old server.

That's legit the first time I've ever heard it put like that. Mind you I'm not saying you're wrong it's just every time I've seen people refer to classic+ they've always been talking about Vanilla.

Also how can something be TBC+ when the only thing from TBC they're including is the talent tree's and even them aren't 100% TBC. Epoch is missing major things from TBC such as Draenei, Blood Elves the entire expansion of TBC... It's like ghetto pre-patch.

One of the devs posted on his youtube that Epoch is at least a month away at the earliest I believe, so we can probably pack this one up for awhile.

Ahh I'm sure the pserver crowd are very vocal about what is and isn't classic vs vanilla, seeing a lot of that kind of non-sense now that we've absorbed all the epoch players on bronzebeard...

but for the vast majority of the 2 million people who played blizzard classic, Classic is considered the original trilogy, and vanilla is considered the base game.

you could make arguments either way but its just easier to understand when people say classic+ they are referring to an umbrella term and it doesn't necessarily mean what you think it means.

If they even manage to turn Epoch on this month it's gonna be an unstable, laggy mess. There's 0 reality in which they shift their entire server/codebase to debian in a few weeks and it isn't a huge boondoggle. Assuming their server core can even run a server the size they are expecting in the first place.

Gonna take my victory lap here with them officially throwing in the towel and now having to outsource their core/server backend to Ascension.

That is probably best case scenario i'd imagine? wonder how long it'll actually take ascension to fire up the servers

It is really the best case scenario but now they have to "compete" with Bronzebeard directly. Within the same game launcher.

That's like saying SoD had to compete with Anniversary Classic. Two wildly different game modes with plenty of interest for each.

100% on them for being retarded. Clearly they spent all of their time on cool content and neglected the nuts and bolts reality of backbend requirements.

I don't do network or server stuff but this kind of thing is the reason I moved into backend engineering a decade ago.
