yeah it absolutely did not do that at all, it just borked the entire install when I downloaded Zeal.
I wish someone would just post a fucking step by step guide to this shit instead of it being all piecemeal. I thought this guide was correct:
wiki.takp.info
but its in multiple parts and not clear.
First part says to download then copy over a new EQW.dll file, but eqgame.exe is not needed for quarm. ok I tried with seperate eqw.dll file and it doesn't work at all, so I went back to the default eqw.dll file in the 2.2 client and i can load fine, just can't get out of shitty windowed mode where i can't move the mouse to the exterior of the window so I have like a bar of useless screen inside the game window cus I can't put any in game boxes there cus the mouse will not move to the edge.
Zeal just breaks the game entirely it won't load at all and when its trying to load the login screen it makes the mouse invisible so i have to guess where the fuck it is then the game crashes.
without zeal when I am in game every time i zone it tells me i'm running an outdated client and to patch, but there is nothing on the quarm patcher. This is just frustratingly stupid.
edit: I got it working somewhat finally, and mouse scroll zoom out works with zeal, but i can't open any window (like options) or the game crashes.
the
Release v1.3.4 · CoastalRedwood/Zeal states to unzip into the root directory, which doesn't work. What it means is unzip into a random spot on your desktop and manually move files into random folders until you figure out what the fuck they actually meant.
zeal.asi zeal.pdb and zeal_readme go into the root directory. All the EQUI html docs go into uifiles/zeal despite the instruction specifically saying not to do this (the game will crash and will not load without this) and all the other random sub folders i'm still moving one by one until I can get the game to work and let me open goddamn windows in game without crashing. it's just random testing and blind luck at this point
