Afaik, anything rogue (or maybe even all non-wariors) is duel wield. Rogues use dagger in OH then whatever in MH for the backstab bonus. SK/Rog/Wiz or SK/Rog/Shm can do everything but the custom uber bosses (Seru+4 and Zeb), which a majority of combos have trouble with. Can two box real easy with the AutoCombat addon though, so could even do something weird like Rog/Mnk/Wiz paired with something else for uber bosses.
Edit: War/Bst/Clr is the cooldown based burst Avatar-Proc on every swing build, which is also dual wield (gear spreadsheet).

The war/pld 1h AA that doubles 1h damage when wearing a shield is way too good for dw to be a thing. Especially since the meta is xxx/war/mnk.

you can dislike it all you want, but that is the simple truth. You can play whatever you want, and with the best POP weapons you will do decently. But if you aren't playing one of the meta builds you are going to struggle with the extra bosses unless you box it up. That has always been the case on this server and on THJ.

Really its just how bad do you want to try and solo the very end game bosses (zeb/seru) everything else most builds can do fine. Even as meta pal/war/mnk zeb wrecks my face and I've only managed to solo him once. Did rng/rog/sk and it was mostly fine except for xegony (fuck that non-curse slow) and quarm but that was probably just due to being undergeared.

Shield block and all the AAs that go with it more than make up for all of that. And you can swap out in bandolier for a big lifetap proc run. Just like you should have a bandolier for a pair of fayguard bladecatchers for big AOE proccing.

You won't be topping Leaderboards without it. But Dual wielding is optimal for some combos like, SK+ Rogue or Monk and any 3rd class. Those combos are very capable of doing all content and are relatively strong.
I've done all the Bosses as SK+Rogue+Bst and the only one that is somewhat challenging is Zeb.

What about weapons in the proc locker, I thought they overrode equipped weapons? Right now I have DPS/stats equipped and procs in the locker so hot swapping equipped weapons wouldn't do anything in regards to proccing lifetaps and AE, no?

Actually some really cool items in there like the silver skin gloves you can put in the clicky locker for a high uptime rune.
