Is Cliffy B at the point of just chasing trends? This looks like generic steam store trash, especially when it reeks of "Hey fellow kids and Twitch™ streamers! I hear you like battle royale games!"
This game just reeks of desperation. Buy "Rad Gems" game currency for a base of $.01 to Gem ratio with a 10000 Gem package for $100. A shirt cosmetic item costs 300 Gems.
I would have more respect if these guys just went out and started escorting on Craig's list. At least that would be a more honest exchange of goods than this pile of horseshit.
Desperate cash grab is an understatement, bunch of things not even textured and it just looks like a mobile game that rips other games assets and changes them slightly. The guns looks like PUBG and the visuals are crappy Fortnite.
I think they're masking the shortcomings with campiness. That said, if it's free, whatever. As long as they make it pay to skin and not pay to win, I'm all for more BR competition.
Was watching Shroud and Doc play. It has some pretty cool ideas (cash system, how they handle safe zones, the little bonuses they have hidden around), but not sure if it will be able to make a dent or find a profitable niche.
Apparently if lobbies don't fill up with actual players, bots fill in the gaps to bring the player count to 100. That's a big negative imo, hard to feel good about an 8 kill game if 7 were bots. Maybe its a temporary thing until the player base is bigger.
I respected Cliff's attempt with Lawbreakers. it was misguided, but a genuine attempt at making a great game.
Radical Heights? This game is an embarrasing cash grab that is devoid of ALL soul and the fact that call it a passion project is even more cringe. Sorry, but this game is shameful.
It's definitely the World of Warcraft effect, companies are seeing all this money being thrown at these games and want a piece of it, but instead of making it unique and different they copy everything, half ass it and then wonder why it fails.
