I've been rewatching some Michael Mann movies, and did HEAT couple weeks ago, such a classic. Watched his first movie Thief for the first time last week and it was pretty good. Definitely tell it was sort of a prototype for HEAT.

It's free on YouTube right now, where I watched it. They also have Blackhat on there, too. I had watched it for the first time earlier this year and didn't realize it was a Mann film. It was pretty good.

I still am going to finish Conan, probably this week. I've heard Ahnold hated Conan 2 which is why Conan 3 never happened (despite the studio wanting it).

Miami Vice doesn't get much love but it's a pretty good flick with a banging soundtrack.

I've got premium, and there's a surprising amount of older movies that are really great on there. Lot of old 60s and 70s world war II movies, shit like Towering Inferno and Raise the Titanic. Just all kinds of older movies I had either hadn't seen in a long time or never seen before and it's been pretty handy.

Actually watched that for the first time a month or so ago. It's not bad but not his best. I was actually disappointed he didn't get Jan Hammer back to work on the soundtrack, but it might be because he's no longer alive, I don't know.

I watch enough other cooking videos, fly fishing stuff, and other hobbies or other things that it's worth it to not have to deal with ads. It's just surprising they've got a pretty good library of movies on there so why not take advantage of it.

I am rewatching "Miami Vice." Although much of it doesn't age particularly well, the series is phenomenally groundbreaking in so many ways. Mann is really impressively ahead of his time (if not a producer of his own future-culture). Plus, some of the episodes and themes have me in awe. (check out Jim Zubiena's fast draw in )
