I agree it's really good film. He's actually done a handful of other Independent films that are surprisingly good. I watched recently God is a Bullet and The Silence. At least that's what I think the second one is called but they're both totally worth your time and I think they're on prime. The first one gets pretty nuts though, and the second once more of a mystery thriller movie.

I know a lot of people crap on Michael Bay but I saw the original transformers movie back in the theater and it was wonderful.
Glad you guys had a good cinematic experience because that's what movies are supposed to be.

Watched the original 'Point Break' with the wife last night. My copy had french subs?! So I 'rented' a new copy and it was edited ,when the chief says we must have an asshole shortage it literally beeped. Oh HELL NO. 3rd time was the winner. Great movie : this is probably my 10th time watching.

Wow-- I was expecting a Shining kind of horror film. But what I watched was closer to a real haunted house film (kindred to the most recent "Haunting of Hill House.")
This one has a lot of possible interpretations AND it is really, REALLY good!
It's slow, measured,. thoughtful, dense, and layered with possibilities.
I liked it A LOT. But I shouldn't over-rate it either. I originally put 8.2 (that's my post-viewing catharsis metric).
It probably really is closer to 7.5... just because it is hard to make a truly "fresh" Scooby-Doo horror film!

I cheated and fast-forwarded through each segment I had seen previously and did not care to see again. That upped the average quality and ratio of new stuff to repeats (as well as shortening the film) but I did like it. It was the worst of the mainline films but better than all the .5s that went straight to DVD.

Just watched three seemingly related movies:
unbreakable (8.5/10): Loved this movie, saw it originally in theatres as a kid. It explores the idea of a normal guy finding out abnormal things about himself while taking care of his family. Really bridges the gap of what’s plausible or not; one of the best films for suspension of disbelief imo.
split (9.5/10): Jfc. I just watched this expecting an extension of the first movie and did not expect what was observed. An actual worthy expansion of the universe and the best acting I’ve ever seen in a super hero movie- on par with the joker.
Glass (7.5/10): I’m just going to say it. Fucking hated the ending. The rest of the movie was great. If you’ve seen the first movie, it’s obvious the villains the focus of this movie. Twists for the sake of twists that just disconnects the result from the source and becomes arbitrary. By the end of the movie, Bruce Willis could give birth to alien laser raptors and it wouldn’t make a difference. This is where that m. Night guy made a fool of himself imo.

We tried to get into the new movie 'The Deputy' but could not. It may be a good movie, hell it may be a great movie but I could not watch it. I'm sure you're not supposed to want to slap the shit out of main character.
Instead we pulled a random movie out of the video folder and it landed on 1964's James Bond 007 - From Russia with Love
