Each kill restores some deadeye. The higher the core, the more you get back each kill.
Ok Dutch!
"Hey there, mister" cracks me up. Just got done murdering and looting, but I'm like the nicest neighbor in town!“Ok” and “Hey there mister!” may be two of my favorite pieces of spoken dialogue in a video game ever.
I imitate it all the time with my wife and kids lol!

The quizzical “ok” does the same, it’s like, are you stupid?
I never really mess with Challenges or 100% completion, so I can’t really comment here.
After that they should release an Undead Nightmare DLC that incorporates the entire game world.
As for the disappointment that the old RDR areas weren’t used, I think it’s wonderful that they are there. A lot of good memories in those areas. Seeing them in 4K has been a delight. If I had to do any of those areas with Arther, I would have felt they were being lazy. If you really want to play those areas, fire up RDR again. Plenty of things to do. The game is still a fantastic game with an amazing story line.
.
The story - Just one more heist. I rolled my eyes every time I'd start a mission with a new character and then Dutch pops in...oh nevermind Reverend Swanson, I'm going on a heist with Dutch.
Blackwater - It just got pointed out how disappointing that there was no conclusion there. Why? Weird foreshadowing of something that never ends up happening.
The "one more heist" thing got across the idea that deep down, Dutch had no fucking idea what he was doing and that he just somehow swindled his way into being head of the gang. But I agree at some point, it almost turned into parody. A minor gripe though. But I felt like Dutch's decent into assholishness was believable and really well done.
Another thing they did well was contrast them with the swanky rich people in the party scenes. I thought it was great that, up until that point, Dutch was seen as a leader and almost untouchable, but when he was thrown in with the upper echelon of society, it was apparent he was just a bumpkin fish out of water. It was a neat little character touch
Fair enough but it did venture into parody land and it's basically a meme at this point. That speaks volumes. But there was a point pretty early on where I was like, why the fuck are we drawing attention to ourselves YET again?
Dutch walking out on Arthur seemed a little bit out of character to me as well. He had JUST saved Arthur from certain death the mission before (I think).
Again, these are nitpicks, and I enjoyed the game enough to finish it. But to me, it's flawed in too many ways to be a masterpiece. To those that think it's perfect, I'm happy you feel that way and I'm glad you got the experience you wanted.
At the same time, the fact we're picking apart the story this way must say something about the level of story telling. Everything else was so well done that the inconsistencies stick out. Take a game like Spiderman; lots of people loved it and thought it was one of the best games on the system. but I really haven't heard as much talk about characterizations or plot points. Rockstar raised the level so far that anything that would normally just blend into the background sticks out as being subpar. There are a few things I don't like about the game, but all the stuff I do like really puts it head and shoulders above anything else this year
And I did point out complaints about the controls, gameplay and pacing.
Probably best to just agree to disagree. It’s great. I liked GoW more.
Yeah, I loved the game (probably my favorite video game story) but there was a little bit too much of "ride here, kill everyone" to the missions. I think, in general for the game, they should have tried to innovate a little more in the actual gameplay aspects.
Some critiques are valid but most I think veer towards personal choices. Which is fine. I love Westerns so I'm going to be predisposed towards RDR2. With that said anyone saying that there is issues with the game because everything revolves around riding horses and killing people, get the fuck out of here as you're a goddamn moron.
