One of my favorite video game characters is The Boss from MGS3(2004)who routinely fucks your shit up throughout the game.

She’d probably be insufferable if created now

then again, the Japanese don’t typically write woke bullshit anyways

Haven't checked in on this in a year. They re-cast the lead to an actual redhead? Good move. Matilda Lutz was stupendously hot in "Revenge".

Are this and primal war actually theatrical released? I can't find them on streaming but assumed they are direct to video Netflix type shit.

very limited, red sonja came out on vod last week. primitive war is still in theaters, closest place to me seems to be 3 hours away lol.

Y’all are going to hate me, but this wasn’t actually the worst movie ever. I have no connection, knowledge, never read or seen anything source material related to Red Sonja. So, my perspective is this as just another cheesy Hercules, Xena, The Outpost, Beastmaster. Yeah conceptually the little redhead probably isn’t really a badass.

Either way, the movie was pretty competent overall. The big creature practical effects were good. I was entertained but also really liked the aforementioned low budget sword and sorcery shows. Was surprised to see Rhona Mitra show up and then, umm, go away.

I can see the 4.5/10 hate from lovers of the comic and whatnot, but no way was it overall that bad.

Yeah, I dont know the comics or OG source…

But it (red Sonja) and Barbarian Queen etc. have always been “girl badass” tropes, they (then) just had tons of skin and T&A - so “no one cared” that a waif just beat up Conan, because we want to see boobies.

So… this one didnt have boobs? But skin? So yeah, that takes away some of the “ill deal w it” on the “omg guuurrlllbosss” o meter.

Heck, If this is on par with Deathstalker Barb Queen etc, great- we need some fantasy movies that are not all trying to LOTR and GOT things

It wasn't bad. It was like watching 3 episodes of Xena back to back. Campy, dumb, but entertaining.

The monkey people were a little out of place. They should have made them Neanderthals instead.

It's much better made than the 80s titty flicks, which are just people in cheesy costumes running around the wooded suburbs in California.

This is definitely on par with Xena/Hercules as far as costumes and film quality.
