What a fucking let-down this movie was. It's like they melded two different movies together between the first and second half.

Any of the attempted "humor" was just as others have described -- just...not funny. Like the socially maladjusted guy at work trying to make a joke and failing...repeatedly.

Am I the only one who gets second-hand infuriated watching someone, real world or otherwise, fumbling their way through critical moments? Not just the main character either, in this case. Once is fine, I get it. It builds tension, but after that it quickly becomes irksome. The scientists were just the icing on the cake.

I've got to assume it was Hatten, as the points emphasized by Cregger in the pre-release interviews were pretty emphasized in the first half and more or less flew out the window in the second. How is this dude gainfully employed?

Thinking back this movie reminded me more of The Thing. Problem is the story, practical special effects etc.. of The Thing (Kurt version) was vastly superior to this. Felt like 80% of this was the main char running around like a retard and I didn't see any reason why he should even finish the journey he was on vs turning around and noping out.
If you don't finish the quest you don't get the 100% achievement

So general horror audiences will like it. And its good but grifter needs rage clicks, I am understanding the assignment.

Damn what a ding against the movie. Honestly I think Resident Evil lore is retarded, but I like the creatures, so i guess this will be a great watch for me this afternoon.
This is such a fucking retarded take.

I love the early RE games and if it was an actual RE movie then I would go see it. It isn't, though, as the gamer reviewers have confirmed so I'm not wasting my time. He literally provided the exact type of review I needed to make my decision. That isn't grifting, it is having an audience.

I haven't watched his video as I haven't seen the movie yet. My issues are content creators like him that use their platform to hate watch (Lanterns in this case) or overly focus on shit (Supergirl in this case). That type of reactionary content is meant to farm as many views as possible, and its not really that interesting to me, because usually they are trying to be as inflammatory as possible to get maximum views from everyone. Do I think Lanterns is good? Dunno I haven't seen it, but I would be more interested in watching someone if they were passionate about the content.

Go through his channel and find the first video of something he liked. I had to go back 1 year, and it was for Weapons. I tried to find another got so far back where he was whining about episode 1 of Andor (though thats the only one he made so I guess he liked it). So why am I going to his channel? Reaction and culture war rage bait? A dude hating everything is as boring as a dude who loves everything. That kind of content is content to be content to farm clicks. Like seriously a video about every Star Trek Academy video? WHY?

So maybe he loved the movie. Maybe he is a giant nitpicking nerd. But I had not heard of him so I gave his content a look and it looks like the same shit as Nerdrotic or any of them and its garbage in my mind. It's absolutely no different then someone saying they constantly they fast forward through episodes on here. Like bro why even turn it on? If his complaint is that its not lore accurate, it really doesn't resonate to me, they made those and they were fucking trash, I'd rather watch a different take and perspective on the universe.

Attached to the andor video, this is my exact issue, this is all they (in this case he) does and its boring and stupid.

That's fine, but it seems like you just aren't his audience. Same with Critical Drinker. I watch them both along with Nerdrotic and Film Threat to get a broader sense of the entertainment industry and shows coming out. Among them they very well cover my general tastes and so I like their content a lot.

I know you pulled back from the grifter comment, but the reason I like them, even when I don't agree with them, is because they are all the opposite of grifters. They are legitimate, long-time, hardcore video game, comic book, and movie fans and it shows. Again, you don't have to like them but they are very consistent in their praise and criticism. Hate watching garbage media to relay to your audience is exactly what I expect.

As for Andor, your viewpoint is in the minority for older Star Wars fans. I don't care how critically acclaimed it is or even if I might like it. The franchise is dead and worthless at this point, so even a clear diamond in the massive pile of shit is ultimately meaningless. And that is before the current day political garbage that seeped in. Why would any real Star Wars fan support anything Disney does at this point? Are we supposed to believe they'll get the point when it's been over a decade of them missing it?
