You and everyone else. People pay millions to look out the window at a mountain. If you can learn to love sagebrush and wind you can have *way* more land and way fewer neighbors in eastern Wyoming. I'd like to know how many acres you could buy out there for the price of an acre in Jackson Hole. The other thing about anywhere near Jackson Hole is that no matter how rich you are there will be people around that make you look like a pauper.
Yea, the prices get comically insane in the good areas. 1 acre or less lot homes for the local paupers costing 10million dollars. Especially since its basically your personal ski base a few months out of the year with how bad the winters have to be. I'll settle for a nice oil painting hanging on my wall and flying out to the mountains if I feel the need. I'd much rather have land to work on anyways. As pretty as mountains are to look at, I have more fun driving a tractor around.
Good to know. One of the dream endings for me would be a nice tiny home on a large empty bit of land. Be as off grid as possible. Starlink. Solar and wind. I would be just fine until my corpse was found decades later.
I once worked in a small company, it was sold to and absorbed by a larger company based in Schaumberg. They were so cheap they figured the best way to have a company sales kick off was to force everybody to spend a week in Schaumberg (sp? like IGAF?).. And spend it there for yearly kickoff.. in Feb.
Yeah, only gets worse as you get older in my experience. In my 20's I was the ringleader of a 60 person crew of people partying constantly, camping as often as we could. Now in my 50's , I have my wife, one really close friend, some yahoos I'm in a fantasy football league with, and well... all you jackwagons. May God have mercy on my soul.
Standard adult problem. Very few shared interests, no spare time, been there done that syndrome. It gets more pronounced as you age. Most simply, adults over age 45 just want to be left alone and even moreso empty nest.
Schaumberg is at least safe, but it's not a destination. I used to go the mall there with my friends when I was a kid. it was, indoors, decent, and a lot of cute girls lived in those parts. They did that the first year after acquiring the company I was at around Thanksgiving the November before. High temp for the week we were there was... I believe... 8. Within 2 months over half the people from the little company I had been at quit.
