The object of Pitfall is to retrieve all 32 treasures in 20 minutes. If you can do that, the object becomes doing it and losing minimal points doing so. Logs don't kill you and falls into the secret passage at the bottom of the screen doesn't kill you either but they all deduct from your score.

Used to love playing this as a kid on the Spectrum
