Returnal was one of my favorite games of all time. I guess because it was the first game I got on ps5 and had the 3d audio headset and the ps5 controller, both of which are top notch for console.
Ill probably check this out if it gets decent reviews. Ps5 was definitely the last console I'll ever buy, so I might as well get a little more use out of it.

Devils advocate but I think consoles have to try to differentiate themselves. And that has to be with exclusives as a tranche. PC does it to some extent albeit by publisher choice.
I’m mostly indifferent. I think the real problem for consoles is charging exorbitant prices for online play. I think online should be baseline free with pay built more on cloud save access or the like. Granted Steam kicks them there too.

Anyone buy the deluxe edition for early access today? Curious to hear thoughts. Is it better/worse/same as Returnal in your opinion?

If you liked Returnal, you will like Saros, according to the reviews / streams I've watched. I'll grab it tomorrow and dive in after finishing D4.

Returnal is probably the best PS5 game I played. Great style/atmosphere and great story telling. Waiting on reviews for this though as I heard t may not be quite as good.

Returnal was amazing. Didn't get into it until years later but binged it for a few weeks and couldn't get enough.

It's not that hard really. I think I beat it the first time in about 20 hours. And I'm 42... No spring chicken. I am a 4 time elden lord though

I might buy 1 FPS/TPS game every 3-5 years and from all the hype/talk I was expecting it to be insanely difficult, but I beat all the biomes within like 10 hours and then another 10-15 or so to unlock the secret ending though I had to look up how to do so (idk how you could figure it out otherwise). Never got too far in the tower though as it didn't interest me as much. I wouldn't even put the games difficulty in the top 20 of any I've played, but it is beautiful and has great gunplay, movement and the boss fights were sick.
Saros is supposed to be way more forgiving and let you pick how hard/easy you want it to be.

I finished Elden Ring a couple times albeit using Ashes or whatever it was called on milleenia and the beast
This is much more forgiving since it has more meta progression. From what I remember, the progression in Returnal was getting good RNG to get the right weapons and as you finished levels, you could progress further. In Saros you can spend your currency that you pick up on permanent upgrades to health / power after every run as well as the major trinkets and such you get from killing the level bosses.

I would have liked Returnal a lot better had this been the case. The RNG was ridiculous for me. Made it to the second area before giving up.

This looks good, and its exactly what I wanted Returnal to be but FUCK SONY and Playstation with its 30 day connection bullshit. They can eat dicks.
