I am going to take on a project to make my PC quieter. My dead quiet macbook makes my gaming PC sound like a jet engine by comparison. The heat it generates is noticeable in my office an don't like it.

Am I just getting old?

Well, your macbook is using like 1/10th the power as well. So it's doing nothing in comparison.
