Bought a 4 pack of airtag 2. Registers fine on my ancient iphone 13. Wifes 8....nooooo. FML, now I have to upgrade her. Or get her a 12 mini or some shite. In the mean time her keys are now registered as baggage on my phone. If she finds out I'm dead.

When my wife lost her S22 U and I had to buy a new one I told her if she lost another she'd be getting an old phone.

I can afford whatever. I'm just a cheapscate. iPhones have so low ROI. It's a phone. I unlock my car with its presence. And it's in my coat most of the day counting steps. I rarely use it for a medical app. Daughters send txts. Wife never calls unless it's to say she's spending money. Photos for vacation, 12mp, it's fiiiine. I use my iPad for reading and FoH. No reason to buy a 2,000 dollar folding iPhone for my part. We 'upgrade', refurbed, whenever they break or become bogged down with latest ios.

Anyway, I'm just annoyed the airtag 2 requires ios 26 to attach. No real reason. Just apple greed. Hence wifes keys are now 'baggage'.

if i remember airtag 2 and galaxy 2 use uwb for extra tracking (tho it still sucks, when i travel and my bag is literally in my lap and samsung says its nearby ish)

I have some good news for once. Alot of the dmesg spew and lockups were just bad emmc, so I got a cheap sd card and started fresh with the june build of danctnix arch.

It works really well as is! I've only installed some very minimal stuff and I'm just not going to touch it. I think I kind of messed up the previous one installing too much crap on it.

Sleep works really well, making the battery last around 3 days. Before I had to turn all that off and the battery was doing good to last 8 hours. Audio occasionally flakes, but it is really rare now. Only happened twice since the reinstall which was about a month ago I think.
