I wish I hadn't kept the Pixel Watch 2. Even trading it for £100 store credit at a local software/hardware exchange place would have been better than this.

It offers very little over my Charge 5. I can't even sell it second hand now because the face had multiple light scratches after just 2 weeks, despite not taking any bumps or collisions. I can only assume the scratches came from my sleeping position with arms under a pillow. There's also a significant deep scratch that also appeared after 2 weeks - so I guess the trade in value is even less than if it was brand new.

I thought I could use it to control my Hue lights, but there's no offical app and the third party one I bought has a 3-4 second delay before executing. So that when you press the toggle switch on the clockface you have no idea if you actually pressed the right zone, which then becomes an on-off-on-off again sequence lol.

Using Google pay at the supermarket is inconvenient as I still have to open the app to choose my store loyalty card before the payment card, so it's easier to do this on the phone.

The only advantage the watch has is the ease of use to see notififications, but this does not justify the daily charging vs 5 day battery life of the Charge 5
Please post a pic of your sleeping position. Tyvm.

my galaxy4 was dying halfway thru the day, i thought maybe it was new smartwatch ui, it's just dying, i was gonna replace the battery, a used galaxy6 is only a bit more, so i guess i'll go that route, and if the battery is trash on that i'll replace it

So... I have a Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. And it's still chugging along. Biggest fitness use for me is sleep tracking, O2 tracking (during sleep), HR tracking (during sleep) because I have a low resting heart rate so I have to keep an eye on shit. Nice but not required to be able to see message notifications on it.

I have yet to see any compelling technical reason to upgrade. At most the newer ones also do skin temp, but that doesn't seem like some big must have fitness watch feature.

I've heard that eventually they're working on blood sugar monitoring (which would be good for my mom), and blood pressure, although I have no clue from a tech standpoint how they'll ever do that. But of the current fitness watches, is there really a compelling reason to upgrade?

going from the 4 to the 6, the 6 "feels" nicer, it's either the heft or it's slighty slimmer, less buldgy, but it just feels way nicer

other than that, just minor improvements, slightly faster, brighter bigger

are you able to get the new watch os5 or wear ui 6?, my watch4 could do ui 5, that was a big improvement.

I HAVE A SGW 6 and like it wife has one also but never wears it. like Haus I use it for sleep tracking, though somethings the thing says i had poor sleep, and i feel "rested" because i pulled a late night the day before and went to bed early and slept for ~10-11 hr. when i typically do 6ish. plus being able to take calls on the watch is pretty cool/Dick Tracyish.

So I still have my 3, but it's hitting the point where each afternoon just before dinner time it's tapping into "Excuse me, I have to go into power saving mode because I'm dying now" mode. And since my work has a thing that gives us a stipend every year to spend on various "personal health devices" and "smartwatch" is on the list I have the 8 Classic being delivered Monday.

Expect a review in around a week. I'm curious as to what some of the new stuff on it I can't do on my 3. But I hear the BioActive sensor is the same on the 6 and 7? I guess I will see. Interested in the cardio metering improvements and apparently some level of anti-oxidant awareness and something called a "AGE" rating to tell me how crappy a shape I'm in? Who knows... I'm still not seeing any huge technical reason to upgrade, just mostly battery life is dwindling on my ancient Watch 3. I just want to get back to my routine of "put it on charger when I go to take my shower and it will be fully charged for me to put on for sleep" since predominantly I use it for sleep tracking. (Keeping my cardiologist happy with reports on how low my heart rate goes while I'm sleeping and hopefully staying about "we need to talk about a pace maker" range).

It might not have all the features of the Samsungs, but the OnePlus watch 3 delivers on the battery life. I get 4-5 days per charge.
