Because they play around their selfish fucking #9.

Sometimes yes, sometimes the opposite. Feels like he's barely had any service at times (he's also done poorly on a few potential chances, too). But they could be crossing the ball a lot more and he's still a big threat on those. There's a reason they looked better after they made those midfield subs.

Vitinha and Neves are two of the best midfielders in the world at PSG - they don't play like that at all for Portugal. Why? Because at PSG they have great fucking attackers like Doue, Dembele, and Barcola who can keep pace and they don't have to match the pace of some 41 year old selfish geezer who refuses to not start or run.

This isn't the only reason they've looked like shit, though. They've played like shit at times. Opening match v Congo perfect example. Numerous chances to play crosses into the box..nah lets just back pass it and maintain possession. Congo had a shot on goal every 20 passes while Portugal had one every 200+.

No surprise at all Portugal looked miles better after subbing off Bruno and Neves in the 2nd half v Croatia. They're simply playing like shit, first and foremost.

I have been watching soccer on and off for more years than I want to admit and I still don't get how defenders can somehow lose track of where the dude who scores 90% of the opposing team's goals is. (Brazil not accounting for Haaland on a cross and then putting 0 pressure on him while he is just outside the box).

It isn't unique to soccer. Same things happens with startling regularity in all levels of football as well. It is even crazier in football where there is usually a man lined up directly across from their best player.

Bellingham has this inredible ability to both look like the worst player on the pitch, and always in the right spot in big moments when England need him. Utterly bizarre player.

That game was absolutely awesome. Kudos to England for hanging on, were on the back foot like 70% of the night. Pickford was very impressive.

Tomorrow some pretty tasty games as well, world cup has been elite.

Yeah, for all the crying and whining from the Euro snobs about "watering down" the World Cup with all the added teams, this World Cup has been the best I can remember since 2014.

Yeah, Brazil might be the bigger name, but Norway deserve their spot. The Quarters might all be bangers, and semis might legit end up France v Spain, and England v Argentina.

This Balogun thing is such a laugh. The soccer world is only now realising that FIFA is one of the most corrupt organisations on earth? Give me a break.
