He has nothing to offer the pantheon project. Smed doesn't believe in that kind of game

New company President is Russ Shanks who is not a clown

I don't have anything against Smedley. I've always appreciated his willingness to engage with the MMO community, and in his various posts he has come across as a decent person, but SOE's record of lackluster products during his reign(other than the big EQ) give no reason to believe in any new venture he embarks upon. Really, I wish all these past MMO luminaries would go do something else with their time. I'm sure they have talents and experience in managing teams and maneuvering office politics, and would make perfectly capable corporate drones. They should go work in some other industry, and leave MMOs to the next generation of developers, those who grew up playing EQ, UO, and WOW, and who have fresh eyes, and a burning enthusiasm to create something great. This genre needs new blood and bold ideas. Not the same recycled cardboard cutouts of past MMOs.

Russ is president, and the company is owned by "Russ"ians. Coincidence? I THINK NOT.
