Nah I can actually see that. Both are more competent actors. Efron's performance would be at least on par with the guy they went with, if not several clicks better just due to how low the bar is set. Gosling would probably Joaquin Phoenix it, Joker style, and own the role.

Doubt A list wants anything to do with Star Wars though. They had to pay Harrison Ford half the budget to get him, Gosling would want about the same.

Its probably an automatic no.
