Didn't the History of the World sequel series kind of suck? Mel's a legend but he's also like 98 years old. As much as I like Moranis and Brooks (And Pullman, who I legit thought was dead for some reason) like half+ of the original actors have passed on. It's a funny premise and joke based on Hollywood being intensely greedy, but I think the movie does a lot better as a one off vs. having actually made the joke reality.

If the first 10 minutes isn't everyone recasted (other then John Candy obv), then having Mel Brooks bust into the shot and start berating the casting director of casting their stunt doubles, including a cigar smoking druish princess with a mustache then they have failed somewhere along the way.
