Depends entirely on who they cast. Not all women can portray a slut and not all women can portray a secret agent.

Well, if they were to insist on casting someone with a vagina for Bond, it should at least be someone British. Like Russell Brand.

The difference would be you can't cast James Bond as a woman because the titular character is a man so it fundamentally would not be a James Bond movie.

Casting a black guy, well you better make sure that he's super popular because otherwise you've got a bomb on your hands.

I was saying it just the other day, that the next Bond will probably be a woman, but if they did that I was hoping it would be a super hot fit chick and she would continue to bang hot chicks in hot lesbo action. While Gillian Anderson is an awesome actor, and could probably pull of a Bond *type* character, the problem is you'll lose most of the male audience who want to see lots of hot chicks, not one decent looking, but middle aged chick time and time again.

Pick a new white/british guy for the role, make Idris Elba 008 and Black Moneypenny 006 and have a fucking Marvel Franchise. James Bond isnt James Bond without pseudo colonial post world war pastiche. Even Daniel Craig..as much as they wanted to get away from it...OOZED it, and that why he was good at the job.

orry to necro.. But just now redboxed this.

Great Bond film, awesome! Great follow up to skyfall... then they jumped the shark/brain drill.

Wtf? Seriously... I would accept the way he got out of the chair and room, but then it's just hack mod auto aimbot engaged. Then he just snaps thick zip ties, because bond? THEN he shoots a helicopter down with a pistol!

I can see why Craig was like "GTFO" - heck I would have also after that.

I would have accepted him being disoriented and slowly coming back to his senses as the "smart blood" has mild nerve regenerative effects or some other random wtfd explanation other than bond going God mode.

Same thing happened with Pierce Brosman.

Goldeneye was an amazing movie. Every movie after that... just kept getting worse, with one exception. Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day, my God. They actually had a North Korean villain who was a white guy, wtf! Though I did like The World Is Not Enough.

Casino Royale was a great movie. As a poker player the poker scenes made me cringe. The chance that a hand would ever play out like the final hand is like 1 in 10,000,000, and there's no bluffing, reading people, folding, or doing anything but just getting your chips in and losing because of the strength of the hands. Every movie after that... just kept getting worse, with one exception. Olga Kurylenko is fucking beautiful. Skyfall was good, and then Spectre just made me cringe.

Daniel Craig is just not Bond to me. Pierce Brosman seemed the most 'Bond'-like person to me, and he's not to blame for the terrible scripts following Goldeneye. Maybe that's because I grew up watching him? Sean Connery is my second favorite. Roger Moore - too old, Dalton - no gravitas.

The World is Not Enough, created the stigma that American Bond Girls suck

Denise Richards being a nuclear physicist (lol) doesn't really help for credibility.

Halle Berry.....was just there to wear a ursula andress bikini type and.....that was it.

And the fencing chick was any better? That (those) whole movie was awful you don't need to single out the American girl.

did the tooth gap of Spectre's female lead foreshadow the break of the UK from the rest of Europe?

Woolygimp is spot on. Everything after Goldeneye (yes it has flaws) was really really really bad.
The problem was not about US bond girls (just refered why didn't work), the problem was the (lack of) script.
Tomorrow was about a guy who wanted Earth to be nuked so he could sell newspapers.
World is not enough was about a psycopath who wanted to blow a submarine in Istanbul (revenge or some shit, i think) with the help of Sophie Marceau.
Die another day a north Korean with british accent wanted diamonds to build a weapon (how original) to blow the DMZ for....some reason.

Daniel Craig movies, for me , don't use the JB formula like the previous ones.
Casino Royale was good.
QoS is the worst bond movie ever imo.
Skyfall was disappointing to say the least.
Spectre was just a rushed shit show.

All in all, since Goldeneye, I didn't enjoy any Bond movie (except Casino Royale).
