I like aspects of Daniel Craig as Bond but, in the last movie, he was looking a bit distractingly old.

Craig is best Bond. The badassedness is off the charts.

I noticed it in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I think the fact when he hit it big in Casino Royale and looked ripped/woman panty gusher, everyone remembers him from that look. That was back in 2006 when he was 36. ( Had no idea it was that long ago) I think he knew there would be a huge lull between Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the next Bond movie, and he said fuck it and wasn't going to pull a Hugh Jackman and do these hulking superhero movies a few years in a row.

He looked haggard in Dragon Tattoo. In Skyfall he just didn't get cut up like he did in the other two. The entire premise of Bond in that movie was that he was getting old and losing a step. Some make up tricks, natural looking and he fit the bill of not looking young, and older than he first appeared. I think it was to ease into the next Bond movie of him going out on a high note, then Bond 25 is when he retires/dies/fucks himself to death and is replaced mid movie.
