That gives me hope that at least it's going to finally get made. I really liked the 1st one. 2nd wasn't as good, but not bad either.

The first movie is pretty much a masterpiece, but this ridiculous delay on the followups has me not caring at all. 2 and 3 were supposed to be released in back to back years

Sony was too busy cranking out Madam Webb & Kraven The Hunter to work on a puny animated Spider-Man project.

Are you talking about the very first Spider-Man film directed by Sam Raimi?

And that's the case I agree, they were wonderful films specifically the first one which I never thought I would enjoy as much as I did.

Nope. Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse was the masterpiece in question.
The 2nd one was pretty good also, introducing angry Mexican Spider-Man (2099), but it wasn't as solid as the 1st one. I also don't like that they didn't give it a 3D release, because the first one ruled with 3D.

Into the Spiderverse is still my favorite comic/Marvel movie ever - even more than Avengers, GotG, etc. Just such a fucking awesome experience that felt like you were watching a literal comic come to life. And the 3D made it that much better.

2nd film definitely took a bit of a step back story wise as well as having no 3D release, but it was still a great movie. The delays between each movie are totally insane though. It makes it tough to really care after a certain point.

At some point, the stylistic flairs and visual doo-dads become less artistic and more distracting and random noise.... they're pretty close to crossing that line.

I'm in the boat with "The first was fantastic, the second was forgettable, and honestly I forgot they were even making a third..."

Some weeks ago, I got my teenage boy to play the 2018 Spider-Man from PS4 (which I enjoyed back then) and he really loved it. So naturally, he asked if there were more games and I got him the Miles Morales sequel. I didn't play it but I watched him play it a bit and goddamn was it stupid and ugly outside of the broad daylight moments where you swing around freely in NYC. They plastered neon pink shit all over the world during night scenes and every villain or character seemingly has bright flashy doodads all over their armor, neon pink lightsabers and glowing space laser rifles, even Miles Morale has some kind of bright red armor with bright lights all over.

Turning fucking Harlem into Cyberpunk Night City despite the game taking place in the same world as Peter Parker's Spider-Man was retarded.

There were other problems I saw (most characters seemed super obnoxious), but the overall art style was a real turn-off.
