aww come on 3 was one of the better movies since Endgame. which isn't saying much but still.

edit: jesus christ now that i look at a list of movies it's probably the best movie since Endgame
Endgame and Spider-Man 3 were both bad not great movies. They both suffered from shock & awe without much substance.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man 1, Civil War, and Infinity War (all starring Tom Holland's Spider-Man) were some of the best movies out of the MCU entirely. I like Tom Holland as Spider-Man, but Spider-Man 2 relied too heavily on Iron Man and Spider-Man 3 would've been a lot more interesting if it had a different villain than just legacy villains.

I want to see Spider-Man fighting the Punisher, Fisk, the Hand, and Scorpion.

I do not want to see Spider-Man fighting Sandman, Electro, another Goblin, etc. We've been there already.

In the comics a few years ago, they had Spider-Man fight the Red Goblin where the Carnage symbiote infected the Hob Goblin. The art was cool but the writing is some of the worst writing I've ever read in a comic.

lol Endgame not measuring up to Infinity War doesn't make it a bad movie.

I agree but it wasn’t a great movie. The plot pacing was all over the place. The bad guy was killed in the first five minutes. It just was a mess.
What? It had just about the same pacing as the previous three Avengers movies and 'the bad guy was killed in the first five minutes' is a really dumb complaint. If anything Endgame probably had the best opening sequence of any of the Avengers movies because the revelation that the stones had been destroyed followed by an immediate five year time lapse was pretty shocking. Did a good job of connecting the two movies since sequels don't normally pick up immediately where the previous movie ended.

The core problem of Endgame was that time travel as a solution was never not going to feel like a giant copout no matter how many sacrifices were made. Endgame was basically just coasting on all the work that Infinity War (and the MCU as a whole) had done up to that point.

I'm curious about what roles will be played by Frank Castle and Hulk, are they the "angel and devil" on Spider-Mans shoulders or are they just cameos to get people in seats.
I'm thinking Banner is there as a surrogate for them not having access to the FF yet, and Tony Stark being dead. In the comics when Spiderman needs "big head science help" he usually goes to the FF to the point for a long time in the comics they essentially consider him family. (Another adopted family for the good kid).

This is also a way to burn down Ruffalo's contract without needing a mountain of special effects if they don't have him "go big green".

I'm not as big a fan of how they handled making "everybody forget" in the MCU versus when it has been done in the comics. In the comics it was "make everyone forget Peter Parker is Spiderman". And if he chose to reveal to them the effect would unravel and they'd remember. But that would have been an easy way out for the way they wrote the last film.

It was great. And Deadpool wolverine was also a home run. I really liked Thunderbolts.

I picked up Spider-Man Remastered on steam for $23 this weekend. I’ve put a few hours into it and it’s pretty fun. The cut scenes are a bit cringe but otherwise it’s a solid adventure game. I usually only play games like dead space, battlefield, resident evil, or dark souls, so it’s a bit different. The “hardest” setting is pretty easy compared to dark souls but it is fun swinging around being the spider-man in manhattan.

it does feel very “HR approved” if that makes sense. For example if you throw a bad guy off a building, they magically get webbed to the wall every time. If Spider-Man falls 2000 feet from a skyscraper he just rolls on the ground. I wish boss fights had a life bar for the enemy, but overall, it’s a fun game so far. I heard the Spider-Man 2 has some questionable stuff in it, mostly Parker is sidelined for Morales as the lead and that there’s a mission you can’t skip where you find someone a date during a prom. The puzzles in Spider-Man 1 are so easy that I actually just skip them now every time bc it’s just a waste of time to do them. Just busy work.

overall, I’m about 10% through the game and it’s a 7/10 I’d say. While dead space or re4 are a 9/10, and dark souls 3 or doom (2016) are 10/10.

if anyone is looking into spider-man comics, I’d recommend “Kraven’s Last Hunt.” It’s a short six issue arc from the 80’s. VERY dark, originally written as a Batman comic then sold to marvel who used the same arc for spider-man instead. It’s my favorite spider-man comic. Im not big into Spider-Man comics, for the same reason I’m not super into Superman comics. The writing typically is pretty childish and plots don’t have satisfying arcs compared to something like X-Men, X-Force, Batman, etc.
