Yeah but you're not reacting to new information as you see it, you're forming your splines from a prior knowledge, so everything looks clean, smooth and slow.

It's a pretty slow run, you can easily knock like 8 seconds off that in a Gamma/Omega.

Oh yeah, you red out and black out a lot in combat. Slightly too much honestly.

can you only race if you have one of the racing ships? i have the amd ship and i can run arena commander and launch spectrum mode or drone mode, but neither seems to have any sort of racing option

Yes you can red out or black out depending on the g-force.

*Edit, Mist was faster than me.

You can race in any ship, but the AMD ship is a racing ship. You should be able to select racing from the game type selector. There's little arrows on the sides of the picture of the game type.

Watching that made me realize how suck I am...maybe harvesting and selling will be for me.
Same here. I picked up the M50 during the Anniversary sale and all it's done is remind me just how shitty I am at racing, regardless of the game. I believe it's destined for the melt-pile.

Noooooo don't melt it. If it's LTI it's worth like 170 dollars on the secondary market, you don't have to sell the whole account, you can trade ships or packages via gifting.

It doesnt have LTI , I picked it up during the anniversary sale this past November, kinda an impulse buy on the last day of the sale. I love how it looks and flies but for the stuff I think I wanna do in the actual game it doesnt really fit. Ive been buying/melting and trading up since I started following star citizen, nothing in my hangar is giftable :p

Those things are like literally impossible to hit with my Omnis. Can spray and pray with ballistic weapons and hope to hit them, and I'm sure sledges are fine if you can get close enough, but that thing is seriously hard to hit.

They finally did a tour of the new CIG German office. Some serious talent there. Like, it's basically guys who made Cryengine, and some other heavy hitters like Todd Papy. It looked like serious business in there too - like 90% engineers and 10% management. Isn't that the opposite of most studios

Crytek almost went out of business, that's probably why.

With the money Amazon pumped into Crytek, it makes me wonder if they're interested in SC as well.

I dunno how many people were at Crytek, but considering the list above, and the other Crytek employees that went to Foundry 42 in the UK, I wonder how much Amazon is going to be getting for its money...

Crytek had plenty of people. SC was the highest profile new project using the Cryengine, and it's a very 'sexy' project so I can imagine it wasn't hard to convince people to come over.

It's pretty cool for them to have part of the team that built the engine they are using. Probably could lead to some nice optimization and SC specific features.

They'll probably have to rewrite huge parts of the engine by the time they've got v1.0 of the PU out.

The way they're planning on putting out these Squadron 42 campaigns makes me think they're going to be doing the single player stuff to get money/promote the IP. Then they'll get the social hubs working in the Planetside module, and do a lot of instanced PvP or PvE zones that connect off those social modules. And they'll probably just keep releasing content for the single player games while slowly stitching together the multiplayer modules to build out the PU.

I think that's their plan...test module individually first, flight sim(already out), FPS supposed to be out this month I think, social/planetside this summer, single player by the end of the year, PU in alpha/beta next year. Also more single player next year and the one after.

Not sure they'll meet their deadlines, but that's the plan...kinda make sense to do it this way, rather than wait till everything is ready and test everything at once...since so many modules can work independently of each other.

They have like 4 or 5 studios now...I worry sometimes that they'll pull a 38 Studios and run out of money before it's ready.

I think once they start selling Squadron 42 copies as a finished product, they'll have more than enough money. The benefits of not having investors to pay off with your profits.
